Okay, Ms. English Major - point our EXACTLY where Torghast fails your definition of design, so that you can bolster your argument
““It involves creating compelling stories, characters, goals, rules and challenges that drive interactions with other characters, users or objects.””
Is the story not compelling? Are there not rules and challenges that drive interactions with other characters? What SPECIFIC part of “game design” did Blizzard fail that would allow YOU to use the word “design” in the context that YOU quoted?
I’m not OP, but OP pretty clearly does not find the drive of interactions between characters/users/objects to be compelling, as per the complaints about Torghast. Conceptually, they like it. It’s a good idea. Design-wise – in practice, as it is currently utilized – they dislike the choices being made by the development team.
I’m done helping you derail their thread with pedantic arguments about vocabulary usage. We are all following this subject just fine, with a single exception apparently …
You’re done because you just made an idiotic argument. The OP is just mad because he can’t down a boss.
BTW - the “subject” you are following is crybabies crying about a boss being too hard. Just like crybabies cried about Horrific Visions - or even Hall of Champions in WotLK.
By … explaining colloquial vocabulary usage to you? Lol.
I’ve done all the upper layers that are unlocked, as I posted above. Am higher now, but did them at ilvl 181 on Tuesday. I don’t find them difficult or challenging. I find them tiresome and a slog because of the high hp% of the mobs making them damage sponges.
You are welcome to have an actual discussion with me if you’d like, but if you are just going to “clap back” with some silly L2P because you can’t follow a thread of conversation, then yeah, I think we’re better off not continuing this together, as it is clearly never going to be constructive.
Do they expect to beat it no problem on their first try?! I can’t tell you how many different things in this game, bosses, dungeons, raids, I’ve failed over and over showing me I wasn’t ready for that content… Go gear up, read about the fight/mechanics, up your game, learn your rotation better, try again with different anima powers… I mean you’re going to get crap builds with the RNG, I don’t get my instant and buffed execute prot warrior build every time I run, but boy it’s fun when I do. I just don’t understand the salt here outside of “just gimmie the stuff, this is too hard sad face”
And sorry, there well never be ANY kind of discussion with you…as YOU believe “So, thanks for being pedantic and trying to vocab-shame someone, but the English major is gonna have you beat every time, babe.”. Sorry, you are an egotistical and arrogant person so there is NO possibility of any kind of actual “discussion” with you.
BTW - love how you tried to re-frame the incorrect usage of the word as "colloquial vocabulary ". Pathetic.
You see, English is a malleable language. Colloquial terminology is often vastly different from dictionary definitions. Basically, we accept that the common individual often misuses or repurposes certain words or phrases, and these quickly become commonly-used enough to earn definitions of their own. It’s kind of like the word “tea”. It’s a leaf, it’s a drink, it’s also now hot gossip! There’s nothing wrong with any of those three uses.
Similarly, while in a hyper-focused programming context it might be important to split hairs between “design” and “systems”, we kind of understand and accept that out among the wretched masses, the two terms will be conflated. It’s also convenient that “systems” fall under the larger design umbrella, so much so that we talk about “systems design” – and thus, you see, it all kind of works together!
I always dislike the Trumpian tic of throwing “Pathetic!” onto the end of every post one makes, but especially here, I’m going to gently suggest that you reconsider because I’m not the one being obtuse in this situation.
Also, all of this is really just to say: If you want to talk about Torghast, please talk about Torghast. If you want to pick apart a single word choice rather than offering anything constructive to the conversation, make sure you’re right before you do it.
“Sure, dear. Have a nice day!” - and then another post. The absolute sign of an egotistical narcissist. Have to have the last word, even though what you wrote is nothing but an EXCUSE to try and justify your failed position/argument. Which is typical of people that would actually the term use the term “trumpian”.
You edited things into your post that I would have responded to before the “have a nice day” had they been there when I replied.
I’m still waiting for an actual rebuttal to my argument (which isn’t an argument, just an explanation, but I don’t want to split hairs on definitions lol). If you have one, I’m all ears!
