Every video I see of people completing this achievement shows them able to just continually spam throw torches. My character keeps pausing to catch the torches before I can throw more, making completing this achievement seemingly impossible.
Is this bugged? I’ve wasted more torches than I’d like testing various locations and I’m starting to get frustrated as it’s the only achievement I have left for the mount.
Stupid question because I fell for this myself. Are you doing it in Dalaran?
Yes I am in Dalaran and I’m tracking my catches. I’ve gotten up to 36 so far after spamming for several minutes… Fellow guildies who have gotten it are saying they had to spam it for 4-5 minutes.
I just wondered if this behavior is intended because every video I’ve seen of people doing this on live (or retail) is able to spam throw torches without having to wait for their character to wait and catch them before throwing more. I am on a higher populated server so maybe that has something to do with it.
edit: Definitely feels server related the more I try. I’m on a high pop west coast server and as people are starting to log in after work, my number of catches has dwindled. I’m now maxing out at 32. I guess I will try again early tomorrow morning when there are less people logged in.
edit2: Confirmed with guildies who completed the achievement. All those who were able to get it did it during off peak hours (weekdays during the day or very late at night). Everyone trying to do it during peak hours has been struggling from what I can tell. Going to an area in Dalaran with less traffic or bodies loaded in seems to help.

I’m having the same problem, the looting animation takes so long I can only reach 30-34 torches before it resets the 15 seconds.
