It took the guild that got world first ragnaros over 15 attempts on magtheridion to kill him and content creators like asmongold and staysafe and esfand didnt even get close to killing him. This is crazy how are average guilds supposed to do this. If the top guilds in the world can barely do it? Can we possibly get some nerfs I can see a lot of guilds disbanding over this fight with how it is now. I wanted to have fun in the first phase but this is too hard for. Normal player and guild

They werent undergeared they all had leatherwoeking drums and ring enchants and all the rep grind items the boss is just really hard and is going to be impossible for an average guild.

Also in the pug I joined people were also playing poorly because they are use to 1.12 EZ mode where your walk over the content

Kargoz’s group killed Mag pre-nerf hitpoints. Mag had 8 million hitpoints instead of the 4.8 million he is meant to have. If it can be done in “heroic” mode I see so reason why it needs to be nerfed.
Most wipes were down to two things: Not interrupting the adds in Phase 1 or not channeling for the full cube duration and having novas go off. Kargoz’s group nearly wiped at 2% because someone broke the channel early but had the DPS to get over the line. DO the mechanics and you won’t wipe… simple.
Exactly, people missing the World Buff crutch they have been relying on for so long and the testing gear means they are undergeared AF, normally you would have a good dash of Kara gear going in.
I’m cool with making raids super hard, even making them harder than they ever were before. If that happens, I want the gear ilvl to be updated to reflect that increased difficulty. PvP gear has no rating requirement for the first two seasons and has the same ilvl as raid gear.
Mag was skipped by a lot of guilds back then. If he is too tough for some guilds then that’s in keeping with the spirit of tbc I suppose.

Exactly, one stream I watched where they were wiping over and over the top interrupter in Phase 1 was a Mage with 24 second cooldown counterspells… of course they are going to wipe
And it wastes a large portion of its stat weight on resilience and stamina. Keep dreaming for a bump in ilvl lol
