In retail and in Wrath the only rating I have respect for anymore is Rank1, because I cannot even count the number of times in both arena, RBG, skirms, or pug BG that I have seen “Glad” players who were clearly purchased.
The higher rates players, some are awesome, but vanilla doesn’t have it, so in order to know who isgood individually you actually need to play the game and learn the names on your own.
Rating systems are over rated (no pun intended) because they can be and often are purchased and sold.

I even know a lot of retail RBG players that came to classic and got farmed in bgs. They have a handful that I actually thought were fluent players.

The amount of baddies buying carries to Gladiator isn’t more than the amount of players rightfully earning it themselves. 
This is just simply another copium mentality. You could say that about literally any “achievement” in this game.
He still has a point. It’s not like we don’t recognize Good players. But the rating isn’t everything, and a game with no ratings also doesn’t automatically = taking no skill.

They are though. The skill cap required to get gladiator vs the skill cap required to get rank 14 aren’t even in the same league of game. It’s not up for discussion. You can get rank 14 with little to no skill at your class. You cannot hope to get gladiator without skill or ability at your class. I could drag all my abilities off my bar right now and get rank 14 without casting a single spell the entire grind.

Yeah yu can. You can buy gladiator. You can also get gladiator using 3rd party auto macros. There was a lot of drama surrounding that with tons of wrath players getting banned for it. These auto hotkey programs basically plays half your class for you.
But yes, getting actual rank14 isn’t a skill thing. But that’s not what we’re talking about. Literally nobody said getting r14 takes skill.

Blizzard tournament was only wsg and ab. AV nowhere in sight.
And they could have done it too, as the wargame feature allows you to q 40v40. But they didn’t do it, cause blizzard knows AV is troll
