Too many retail players asking for retail changes

QQ more this isnt even classic wow. This is something entirely new

Im 100% agree, if retail players want retail things, its obviously what they have to do.

Hopefully the next dragonflight season comes out soon and they leave.

A new Dragonflight season started just before this released actually.

If retail and WotLKC players left SoD would probably have like 2 layers per server instead of 10.

Wrath and retail are the same thing. But yes, retail is more popular. Thing is, retail players are already subscribed for retail. Alienating those who only like classic would be a bad idea from a business perspective.

This is the biggest cope I’ve read all day. No, could not be more wrong. It’s Classic:SoD.

That FIRST word kinda important. Retail players, go home. If your idea if the game was good, you would be playing it.

No, absolutely not. Terrible takes like this landed us with retail. Go. Home.

SoD isn’t Classic.

SoD is Classic+.

Hey, here’s someone talking for the sake of talking and has absolutely ZERO idea how this actually works coding wise underneath the hood lmao.

The fact that this is the Classic Client means everything as to what you can and can not change without impacting the Era and Hardcore realms.

You can’t change the fundamentals of the design, just throw on a few new bells and whistles.

Coming from the cult that thinks the greatest mode was the one that only managed to have 20k players while retail and wotlkc had 400k+ each this year, sure cupcake.

I’m just hoping that the actual devs just ignore these forums. I don’t know how they could possibly get any actual valuable feedback out of this toxic cesspit of whining and “NO BUT U” responses.

Part of the reason it looks like there are so many players wanting retail QOL improvements is because the people who actually enjoy the game are A) out there playing it and B) avoiding this place completely because it’s filled with dopamine starved retail Andys.

It looks like Blizzard has kinda realized the monster they created by listening to the braying masses and they’re not making that mistake again. The stuff we’ve seen in SoD has had a very measured and innovative approach to it which feels very at odds with retail (also hence all the hot angry tears from Retail Andys).

There are plenty of things to love about classic. The thing is there are several things to dislike about it as well. There was a reason so many things changed over the years and that was to make the game better.

Not saying we need LFR, BOA gear, etc. Things like instant mail, summon stones for example isn’t alot to ask for.

Also this isn’t a “No changes” server.

You are the one who doesn’t know the difference between client and design. I on the other hand am a backend software dev. Clearly if client = design, then engine = design, right?

The problem is that everyone has a different list of changes that they think will be ok and nobody will budge.

For every person who presents a sensible improvement, there will be a hundred drooling retail Andy’s yowling and sobbing for LFR/flying/wow tokens/demonhunters and whatever other abomination they can think of.

We really need a better feedback system instead of the toxic cesspit of these forums.

You can sit here whipping it out all you like, but no one is going to be impressed while you’re making arguments that a Seasonal Classic Era server isn’t Classic Era.

It’s obvious what the design goals are here. With Season of Mastery, they sought to change up the endgame raids with new mechanics and nothing changed in the game really besides that.

With Season of Discovery, they got a little bolder and seek to change up the entire class meta and adventuring journey through 1-60.

It’s perfectly obvious what the “design” goal here is, and who the intended audience that product was designed for.

So you do know that every single spell in the game is using the retail % of base mana instead of vanilla’s flat number? You are just looking for anything to try and argue for this to be vanilla instead of SoD. It is funny that you KNOW what the design decision was, all the while arguing against the design decisions. It is ridiculous. Not only are they pulling abilities and mechanics from retail, but they have also made base game features like retail. This is retail in vanilla with additional changes. Better come to terms with that.

SOD is simply classic with a few retail abilities sprinkled on top.

They didn’t say this in the Blizzcon panel. They specifically pointed to SP and said it wouldn’t be a meme but its a bigger meme now.
