Yes it is. Take out runes and bfd and what do you get?
You mean take out the massive changes? New raids, runes, quests, items, and balancing. But nO cHaNgEs!!1! Guess what, even more changes in phase 2, 3 and 4.
I think the runes are universally celebrated. Maybe not the way to acquire them, but the actual enhancement of how classes play.
They just need to build off that. Ezpz
I don’t see anyone asking for retail changes. This thread’s complaining about nothing. I see people complaining about a lot of the things that are a mission for this specific server (like meme specs being good when warriors really don’t want them to be) and those people should go play era.
I love their responses too.
‘We should add transmog and make it super easy to find everything! This isn’t classic it’s season of discovery, that means we should make it retail!’
Era is your home. SoD is the playground between your home and retail.
In some ways, but in many ways it is just inconvenient.
Close, but no cigar.
SoD is Classic+.
I am starting to hate the insufferable losers who get sweaty for this version of the game. Them chasing completion of all the content reminds me of my dog after inhaling his meal and looking around for more. Except my dog isn’t rabid like they are. Just throw them their bone so they’ll go away please.
No matter how many bones you throw anyone, they always want more.
Vanilla had testing before it released? Why would they do something like that?
Little of what you said is even true.
This is not just classic it’s SoD, changes from classic are the whole point of this version of the game and why it’s so populated atm.
People ask for changes to the rune system, I’ve seen very few ask for vanilla things to be changed. It’s perfectly fine asking for changes during SoD that are rune related for classes or even things related to SoD events like Ashenvale and the raid. Go play classic if that’s all you care about, this is SoD those abilities, balance and new stuff are why nearly all of us are here. More runes and new equipment from raids are getting added every single phase, this is not vanilla.
Everything else you said is pure nonsense and bait.
It’s the same client used in Retail.
Locust destroy everything and when everything is gone the destroy each other.
The only change i want to see is world buffs being balanced/nerfed. Not a single world buff with spell damage, yet for warriors world buffs are worth more than all of their gear & consumes combined. And they further trivialize already trivial content. Maybe tone them down a bit and balance them out. I’m happy they added spell hit & spell damage to the BFD buff saying you can only get 1% spell hit from gear.
SoD is mainly populated by WotLKC and Retail players, which is why there are actually a lot of people playing it unlike era or SoM. It would be a mistake to cater to the era mindset in SoD.
Very strange that they added things like meeting stones to SoM, but removed them for SoD when there are MORE players who appreciate that kind of feature playing SoD than SoM. I think it demonstrates a certain obliviousness from the development team around who is playing their game and what they’re interested in.
But this isn’t vanilla. Notice we have abilities from other expansions? Didn’t that tip something to you?
Or the dungeons that are now raids?
Of course there’s going to be “retail” changes. They weren’t left to rot 15 years ago… But that ground it was built on, still works. Old and new can clash and make something cool™
The funniest one to me is the grizzby quest in Rachet. It takes a few hours of farm and killing some shredders.
These retail players would have you thinking its the AQ bug event just to get the rune locked behind the quest… LOL Its hilarious tbh
They are so mad they have to play the game for a couple hours.
SoM just came out at a time where if you weren’t doing the TBC content, you wouldn’t be able to advance. The timing was a blunder, and that was the main issue.
Not sure what retail has to do with any of this. Most people complaining haven’t played retail since 2010.
