Irrelevant. I’m not a Vanilla player, I started playing in Cata and I’m not one of these Vanilla purests. You would never catch me arguing for things in the game like spellbatching because that’s the “authentic experience”.
As I pointed out above, I’m not one of these Vanilla purests. However, there are certain developments which made me lose interest in World of Warcraft over time that I only rediscovered in playing Classic, and have been playing at my own leisure since.
THEN DON’T PLAY SOD! Every season will include more and more changes (we already know this) and bring the level 60 experience closer inline to retail while in the vanilla world. This is the season for those of us who want the vanilla world with the more modern features. Can I recommend a version of vanilla that better matches your preferences?
Does Blizzard know this? You should inform them that you get to decide on their design decision. Also you 100% have classic patches. Currently you are on ICC and then you will have Ruby Santiam, then you will have Cata.
Can’t wait for even MORE CHANGES in phase 2. Vanilla is about the world and not about the mechanics. Play SoD for vanilla world with lots of changes to bring in more in line with future versions of the game or go play something else.
SoD needs a PVP gear progression system to keep on par with raid gear. If not, then it forces PVP players to raid every 3 days. And since PbP players don’t necessarily have a PVE infrastructure to support them in raiding, nor do they want to participate in that, a raid finder needs to be introduced.
This can all be avoided by simply just adding PVP gear progression like classic has.
Which means I can sit here and voice approval of suggested changes I like, and in equal measure disprove of the ones I don’t.
Except certain mechanics, such as the Duty Finder, has a direct impact on the world and how people engage with it.
And don’t sit here and say “no one is asking for Duty Finder in Classic” because there’s
a thread that was made today with 90 replies in it asking for exactly that.
Every mechanic has a direct impact on the world and how people engage with it. If we suddenly got Transmogrification in SoD this would still be Vanilla, we just all wouldn’t look like color coordination was too hard for us, but otherwise the game would play exactly the same except now cool looking (but otherwise useless) gear would have a niche AH market.
Oh and xmog in SoD would be cool, so the Devs should add that.
