Too many alliance in open world

In open world, there’s nothing but alliance. Ohn’ahran Plains usually has like 8 to 1 alliance everywhere I go. Supply drops have maybe 5-10 horde and 40+ alliance. I’m alright with Wpvp and I have my pvp gear but I run into nothing but groups of 3+ alliance everywhere I go and god forbid I die or run. I’ve been camped for over 20minutes(which is pvp and that’s fine to an extent) and been chased across the entire zone while flying but in addition, tanks show up with 700k+ health and a white auto attack does over 100k+ to me which I don’t understand. I’m on Tichondrius and I just don’t know if it’s my server or my shard or whatever else I’m doing wrong to be swarmed by 99% alliance.

I accept that there will be pvp with warmode in exchange for the world quests/increased gains but is this how warmode was intended, am I just playing unskilled/poorly, or the server/shard population?

(this isn’t my main, my main is a 70 enh shaman but idk how to change which toon is posting)

For the record, Alliance felt this way about Horde for — checks notes — like 15 years.

Lol that is true

I’m seeing the same as the OP. It’s kind like dang, where y’all come from?

They have a World pvp discord, Ruin Gaming, that calls out and notifies when people are doing War Crates and other stuff. But anytime I mention it i get a bunch of Horde saying, “so what we do the same thing?!” but I have yet to find our discord lol.
Real talk, I wouldn’t care if it wasn’t for the fact they get a 20% bonus for “being outnumbered”

Nice to know Ruin is still at it. They were infamous on Warhammer Online for zerging so hard that they destroyed their server’s population and it had to be merged.

Its been a lot of fun flying around the world and seeing lots of hostile players.

I don’t mind it sometimes. I kind of sit back like the yellow jacket meme guy waiting for someone to get out of position or hearthing back…. Not so fast

Since the Horde was the quintessential PvP faction, that is VERY telling when you don’t see a lot of Horde anymore.

And all the times people have complained about Blizzard favoring the Horde? Well now look where we are: Blizzard has trashed PvP so hard that the fulltime PvPers have bugged out. So yeah, Hello Kitty! It is what it is: a carebear(and I’m careful because I have carebear roots too) game.

Ever since WM was a thing, the Horde won the war. But now that’s over and done with. That’s in the past now. We can’t forget which faction was constantly coddled.

Boy howdy, Classic Cata just cannot come here soon enough.

Even on the RP War Mode shards, horde is vastly outnumbered but sometimes it’s fun. Boyfriend and I ran around picking off stragglers and dismounting people in the air till we got bounties put on us and even then they came with a raid group to kill us.
Maybe it’s me but it’s fun seeing how long we last vs a large group. Meanwhile on my Moon Guard alliance, we rarely find groups of horde which isn’t so fun. I do miss it being more even.

Hi I would like I join in the shenanigans. Been looking for an Alliance pvp guild for a few weeks now.

This thread is hilarious.

If you don’t build it, they won’t come.

The dramatic drop in WM participation on the Horde side now gives the Alliance a 10% WM bonus with no AOO based on a memo I got recently. That pretty much means one faction hung it up for good, and you can’t PvP without players.

It validates everything I’ve said and others have said on the subject matter, ever since BFA launch. The WPvP action just isn’t there(I speak esoterically for the entire cycle), but it was when Alliance enjoyed 25-30% WM bonus and AOO every week practically ALL throughout BFA. Maybe at the very end Alliance had 20%? As easy as cause and effect.

What amazed me about the Normal Horde was that they kept on going, but I think once Chromie Time came out and SL itself having no WPvP content did Horde get the picture that the jig was up. It’s like the Alliance couldn’t beat the Horde WITHIN the game but only WITHOUT the game.

It’s stupid, isn’t it? Blizzard gives Alliance everything they QQ’ed about and won’t give the Horde what they’d need or like to have. I shook the dust off my feet at the Alliance in 8.1. It was not the wrong decision by far: they made a desert and called it peace. I can take the tour myself but otherwise I have no endgame interest in Dragginflight.

See you in Classic Cata, folks, and you too, Tashiva.

Yet somehow Alliance still get the higher enlistment bonus, so something’s broken. Either shards are still ending up faction stacked or the Enlistment Bonus is staying for Alliance regardless of them having more with Warmode enabled.

It doesnt help a lot pvpers re rolled dark iron dwrf or night elf for arena

I won’t touch Classic Cata :joy: My time with classic will end with Wrath. And I don’t go by my rogues name anymore  Most know me as other names Zerk.

Have you even tried to play Dragonflight or are you being another one of those that dog on it without trying it and basing your opinion on some streamer/YTer? Even with the imbalance, fun can be found but not if you don’t try.

This def didn’t help.

I got a feeling this is part, if not most of it. I only play on Wyrmrest/Moon Guard so what I know is limited but Alliance definitely is stacked for the RP shards. I phased over to Stormrage on Tash here for a world quest and it was even worse.
Maybe it’s time Horde got a bonus/AOO.

Regardless, I’ll still fight no matter what faction I am playing at the time. Keep them swords (or claws) sharp!

I will probably use “Zerkhal” myself for Classic Cata, since that’d be the style of going back in time.

Without continuing my old WPvP career which I can’t do so if there’s nothing to hunt, I won’t need to play DF longer than 2-4 weeks per major patch. I did enjoy the free evoker trial, so there’s that. I’m not someone easily influenced by a streamer or YouTuber. I did my own research as usual: playing 10.0 prepatch, doing info research, and participating in forum discussions.

It’s Bad News Bears. The Hunter class is in the worst shape it has ever been since Legion. There’s no WPvP content to do unlike in BFA(and that was a crappier expansion), self-evident that it’s practically HKIA now. Hunter WPvP was my “life” so to speak: I’d rather play 9.2 all over again on a Blizzlike private server even now, as that was the best post-Leg version I’ve played of all time!

There’s the Trading Post, but I’m resolved to give that to someone else. Fun can be found that way after all else has been exhausted, but not if we don’t try.

Wpvp is pretty awful, unfortunately. I’d say park yourself on a tall cliff and use your knockback spell to win friends and influence people. Just wanted to add that I didn’t have a problem picking up supply drops. Might be because I’m going after them early in the morning.

Ah yes, good ol’ Legion WPvP. Use them towers and what a joy it is when Highmountain arena WQ is up!

Meanwhile, I was still going back to Stormwind to make my bones and occasionally stopping by GB Arena, when that was still the “cool thing” to do.

Lmao what a weird conspiracy theory.

Maybe more people are playing Alliance? Too bad, I guess? How do you know whatever “memo” it is you got that Horde isn’t participating as much and maybe it is Alliance that are participating more? Like, you’re facing resistance now and that’s bad?

Currently Alliance has a 10% buff and no AOO. Or something like that. On the talent screen it says Alliance has a 15% buff, but on my bar it says I have a 10% buff. Either way, it’s not 20%+ and AOO isn’t up.

Facts are stubborn things. If Alliance reached 10% WM bonus and no AOO as a fact, then we’re not looking at the same WPvP that happened in BFA and maybe even SL too. We’re not looking at a more fruitfully active scene. That’s why it comes as no surprise that the Horde was always the PvP faction. If you gave a holy hoot about PvP, chances are you’re a Horde.

It’s POSSIBLE that more people are playing Alliance. That’s one possibility in the survey. And that could be a more of a racials thing for more PvE applications, I don’t know. This is also the first expansion to start off with cross-faction grouping. Funnily enough I saw a demo of this in 9.2 when we had a HUMAN paladin helping to rez Hordies that were hunting in the city. He saved me from a few ghost runs in my last day.

It’s crazy that while you can’t do WPVP against someone of the same faction outside of a FFA, you can actually provide SUPPORT such as HEALING. Imagine a goblin hunter “hired” by a human paladin who wanted her fellow Alliance to suffer lol.

But this is Desert World of PeaceCraft we’re talking about now. What resistance? It’s not supposed to be bad; it’s bad when there is NO resistance.

“Back in the day” you normally didn’t have a hard time as Horde on Normal until Ruin or CL showed up, and by that point the game is almost unplayable because of the lag. Though I don’t blame them for that, at the same time they are not the kind of people that stick to smaller deployments. They loved flash mobbing. The year before last in SL S2, we scored some 200 frags in SW City and took about 50 in a small raid group of about 8 people in about 2 hours before the group called it a day or night(the event I liked to call “Hydra’s Revenge”). I knew it then that if we pulled that crap in Orgrimmar we wouldn’t have lasted nearly as long as 2 hours.

As a TL;DR, and as it makes my pee boil, I’d rather go play BFA on a private server and on the Horde side. I can’t stand BFA but I will say that the WPvP action was Gucci. I’d rather have more of that than Dragginflight. But I know that Classic Cata, particularly in the control of Tol Barad, would be bumping it(in theory). Unlike WGrasp, you can catch the opposite faction there or RIGHT in the capital.
