Tonyferal done with retail tournaments

Shadowlands with another headshot… all the flame and hate aside… Does WoW pvp esports survive going forward or is the damage done irreversible?

It doesn’t matter, WoW will go in Xbox game pass soon and it’ll just be another random game to log into with the purchase of the pass. I’m hyped for when that happens. But truthfully I don’t think they can repair the state of PvP at this point. Having too much borrowed power is basically the reason we are in this miss, and the funny thing is they are baking that borrowed power into spec talents next expac. This just carries the borrowed power forward into an insane cycle of being unable to balance around the ridiculousness.

Congrats to Tony and his retirement, like anyone in any profession after doing it all and really not much more to prove he can go and do other things that motivate him

nothing bad to say here guy was a beast

I don’t think he’s done with retail tournaments, I think it’s more like a “Get rid of RMP because we’re losing to people who are actually roleplaying apes”.

I believe he’ll return to the tournament scene in the future, just gonna require blizz to stop being useless.

And ultimately I think it’s better he takes a break and returns later down the line with a 4 man roster that doesn’t only play jungle. Then his team will be unbeatable.

I don’t blame him. Game is busted. They played like gods the last match only to lose to Blizz’s incompetence in balancing their game.

You don’t actually know what borrowed power means do you?

Eh, what’s making this expansion’s borrowed powers so powerful is the conduits that come with them. For example, convoke’s conduit increases your damage by like, 40% while channeling it and the other conduit increases mastery (or damage of bleeds and finishing moves) by another 20ish%.

Or sepsis conduit increases it’s damage by 233%… The abilities aren’t really that powerful, but instead the conduits that buff the moves and their character. The only one that may stay overpowered if it’s still in 10.0 would be resonating arrow for a flat 30% crit increase and shoot through walls and the kyrian rogue move (can’t remember the name right now) that empowers your combo points to each be 6 point combo point finishers - this is one of the reasons outlaw is so powerful right now.

Its lookin like abomb limb made it into next xpack, was pretty disappointed to see that, I think its one of the more poorly designed spells right now.

I do hope they rethink that spell abit, don’t know whats with them and dk spells being passive yet busted, first delirium and now this.

As long as conduits/ conduit trees are eliminated and there isn’t a replacement system, balancing the moves with fewer modifiers should be easier than the current game.

Pretty much this. Assuming they don’t bake in a lot of the power from conduits into these talent trees (ex: give abom limb a massive power boost due to loss of conduits) it should net out better.

Systems^3 is not a great approach to game design.

Idc about the conduits for that even, just a str8 obnoxious spell that lacks counterplay.

Same thing with mindgames to an extent its really only a dispel check that buffs comps with spammable cc and stuff wthat has weird dispel interactions.

Also really dont like the fact that druids are getting adaptive swarm, because guess what? they’re probably gonna be balanced around taking it, so you’re probably gonna be forced to take it. Otherwise you’re just gonna lose out on 25% hot/dot damage.

Does feral have any other comps besides jungle that could compete at that level? And I agree bring insta-clone back

at a tournament level ? no, comp diversity is a joke in recent expansions. there are a lot of specs that really only have 1 comp

No, without the leggo, Echoing Reprimand is only 1 combo being turned. Its absolutely garbo.

Also, venthyr outlaw is also performing pretty good for high sustained damage since you get 20% haste proc and then once it fades you get 20% vers for a while. On top of having a good burst every 1.5min

This guy has some of the most absurd takes I’ve seen in these forums. Hard to tell if trolling or not, but talking as if talents are borrowed power definitely belongs on this guy’s greatest hits

My bad, rogue isn’t my main and forgot the legendary. Also, what you said further shows what I’m talking about - as for the venthyr move, without the Lego it hits one time instead of 5 and only gives haste and no vers.

So yeah, despite having access to covenant abilities in 10.0 they will be a much weaker version

I really hope they continue to destroy this game so I can break my addiction

Ohh yea so Abom limb from a CLASS COVENANT IN SHADOWLANDS isn’t borrowed power? Lets look at another example of borrowed power, Ret pally Wake of ashes being baked into the spec after Legion.

Borrowed power is exactly what it sounds like, it’s power borrowed from something outside of the class.

Stop trying so hard to be a troll with these comments lol, it’s laughable.

Pretty sure most of the addiction will migrate over to PvP in Wrath classic. A good portion of players are already extremely keen for WoTLK arena and might just jump ship if DF doesn’t turn out to be better than BFA/SL.
