Tokens, last straw for me

Fortunately for them, no one cares what you think. But it will be a relief when you stop posting like a jilted lover.

For what years? WOW token has been around a decade…

Ok, don’t laugh, but there were some people who actually thought classic would be different. I know that’s hard to believe but trust me, some people really did think classic would be different.

A business has to generate revenue or it has to turn off the servers and let people go.
I know this is a foreign concept to way too many people but making money isnt a bad thing and the tokens increase revenue.

Lmao

You can make money without losing your integrity.

Tell me how they can make more money on an old game

They did fine in Vanilla Classic. This is obviously a cash grab for Acti Blizz quarterly earnings report coming the end of next month and nothing more.
Miss me with the pseud nonsense too, I know how business works.

You still aint offered an answer … Lets have your professional ideas how blizz can increase revenue with no tokens
CLassic vanilla did fine and now the numbers are lower. Revenue has to stay steady or increase. Tell us how

Easy. Separate sub. The people who main Wrath don’t play retail anyway. Boom. That was easy.

This 100%.

And what about the lost revenue of those that do?
Boom you lose. Move along

They pay the second sub to play Classic? Thus increasing even more revenue. It’s easy to make money without sacrificing integrity, that’s just not the Blizzard way.

aha oh wow, how surprising that they put suck-up, sycophants on the ‘wow community council’

i like how you think you are owning him by thinking this change will cause ‘only’ 10% of the playerbase to quit - as though a an unannounced change that causes 1/10 players to quit isn’t an absolute disaster.

well i am out. cleared ulduar, grinded insane in the membrane, ‘the exalted’ and a lot of other content. i am going exclusively classic era servers now.

this is straight up gas lighting by blizzard who said they would consult the community, with the only changes being quality of life but not changing the feel of the game.

can’t wait to see what these shameless guys do next, maybe we can pay for more raid resets by the time ICC is out?

And you think they will? Thats hilarious.

Unreal.

And with that Im out. Unbelievable.

Nobody really cares if retail refugees have to pay a separate sub. I would pay a second sub for DF if it worked that way. Classic 2019 had 1 million new subs for a reason.

And these numbers came from what source exactly

It was huge just google it youll get a ton of hits from news articles when Classic launched. Common knowledge.

There’s many different ways for a business to make money. It can compete on quality, price, customer service, short term growth, long term growth and stability or many other ways. It might be hard to believe now but blizzard in it’s early days had a reputation as an MMO with one of the best customer service divisions in the business with an extremely effective team of online GM’s. That was one of the ways blizzard competed in the market.

In the 50’s the average pay of a ceo was 20 times the average pay of the workers. Now ceo’s make about 300 times the pay of their average workers. Much of the reason is that so much more of a ceo’s pay is in stock options. That causes the management to focus on things that produce short term gains in the price of their stock over any other consideration. Quality over the long term is a lower priority. This is why so many companies use the tax breaks to buy back stock rather than reinvest. It increases the stock price, upper management can exercise their stock options that have been part of their pay for years and make a killing. That has always been activision’s business model, a near total focus on the price of the company’s stock. That almost always results in a deterioration in the quality of the games as they try to cut development costs and customer service to the bone and increase profits in any way they can regardless of how game play is affected.
