Classic is no longer classic.
Im just glad I was playing back in the days.
The “vanilla” classic actually gave me some of that old joy back. Now the developers are run by greed, incompetence and a vision that is just chaotic.
Should there ever be a classic with no change I might return.
Thanks for sharing. See you later.
Yeah, I unsubbed after that article they posted. Straight up lying to the playerbase and fabricating numbers to make it look like they are actually doing something, yet every day for months on end the same bots still roam freely in instances. Blizzard isn’t lifting a finger to counter botting and gold selling then they really try sell us this token and tell us that it’s to help us
If you just astroturf the scores of threads saying people are quitting with “lol okay bye” do you think it’s actually going to do anything to stop players leaving?
I’d be surprised if you can make a raid for ICC at this point when it comes out. The WoW token I’d guess will hit WoTLK for 50-80% of its playerbase leaving.
50-80%? Lol I would say that 80% of the population just wants to play the game and doesn’t care about much nor read the forums. They play the game they remember and most likely buy gold to further enjoy their time
Blizzard knows full well subs are dropping and this is a last-ditch effort to squeeze money out of saps before the game dies.
You’re being foolishly optimistic. 50-80% is probably being conservative on the amount of players this will remove from the game.
Definitely not optimistic lol. More people will quit bc of togc than a token.
I’m going to give the HC servers a try, but that’s really the last thing I’m interested in.
If they add the token to that, or don’t enfore any HC rules then I’ll leave and wait for something else.
Already uninstalled OW2 after the removal of PVE.
It will less than 1%
Probably
That’s how we’re making up stats now right?
See you in a few weeks when data shows less than a 10% drop in players. Probably less than 5%.
50-80%… I don’t know what you are smoking but it’s probably real good. My guild lost a grand total of 0 players from this announcement.
Majority of people don’t care.
The comfiness is destroyed. That’s for sure.
I really hate how fanbois quote stats of demoralized and sad players as insignificant. You would only develop feelings for how genuine fans of the game feel if the numbers hit a certain threshold?
Happy to lose players at a trickle rate?
It’s people like you that were shocked when HotS shut down into maintenance mode and keep playing saying the game is good. hahaha
You know for years there were complaints about certain things that would often get censored across multiple platforms. All the while people would quit in these small percentages as time went on. You’re perfectly content for the game to boil down to a handful of people as long as they’re likeminded as you.
That’s complicit and destructive bias.
So to avoid hurting every single “genuine fans” feelings we must make changes that appease every single one of them? I’m a genuine fan and I’m ok with the token. Some in my guild are not liking it but some don’t care.
You will never make every single fan happy and loss happens at a trickle regardless of how you look at this product… This is a sort of rehash of original wotlk and we are halfway through the release so of course people will leave. Some are burnt out, some are mad, some are bored, some are happy, some have passed away or other family tragedies… Do you really think the whole player base will continue rising and never slow down? They themselves have games that are going to detract from this version(retail, hc, som2, diablo 4).
That’s why they released it in the middle of wotlk, most people aren’t going to be happy about it but they have obligations to their guild mates. But when cata drops, who is going to want to play it when people can just buy gold, you can really feel that impact at the start of expansions I do think it’s going to have long term consequences
It will be closer to 1%.
Where did I say I was content about any of this? I just don’t have the delusion that it will have as much of an impact as people seem to think it will. People will keep playing and then quit after ICC like they were planning on doing already if they don’t go do vanilla again.
Blizz shouldn’t be bending over backwards for casuals that seek illegal methods for acquiring in game items. That dishonors themselves and the genuine fans of the game. People seeking illegal methods for acquiring things in game are not genuine fans.
You’re mitigating the damage by dwarfing the impact.
What you just said proves it wasn’t about game design for fans and classic experience but clever timing to exploit as many gamers as possible during the height of commitment and popularity.
Lots of people were gonna quit after WotLK.
Maybe it’s why they made the decision to release the WoW token now, to milk as much money before Classic eventually snuffs out.
Yes, hence the backlash.
