Token is crashing!

There has never been a period in WoW history where there wasn’t a demand for in game gold in exchange for hard cash. Blizzard just got tired of that cash flowing to China so they legitimized it with the token system

The token system isn’t going to crash from this new policy - the demand for it will always be there. Gatherers and Crafters will always be looking to sell, people with limited time will always be happy to buy a token to purchase in game goods.

And being able to convert in game gold to game store is a godsend. I bought DF with gold. If you’re willing to put in the time, WoW becomes free to play.

Botters will have to get smarter to avoid detection, next time you see a bot you won’t suspect anything because it will grab an herb, run 20 feet, jump up and down 3 times, say hi to a tree, then run to the next herb.

I would just think its an average WoW player.

lol.
For $20 real money…sorry…no one is going to buy that crap. 100k aint that hard to make

You mean people will buy them? They are converted to game time or blizz money…

Thank goodness I got one when they were 350k. -pats Lightforged Warframe happily-

the price recovered to 300k, probably because alot if people unloaded alot of gold to buy tokens at 200k

The gold you get from WoW tokens has to come from a player that paid gold for it. Its not just randomly generated.

But killing a boar does generate gold into existance. And those bots were in their way printing money by buying tokens with gold?

IDK…

yea but thats not because of wow token tho. Players have been generating gold like that since vanilla

Stupid hot take from the floofer. There’s nothing wrong with using in game gold to buy an expansion. Blizzard makes more money off that transaction than if I pay with cash for it due to that $5 difference in each token.

As time moves along and more bots run out of game time and can’t renew with the token. It will have a downward pressure on the token because most real players can’t make 300k a month.

I hope you’re right, I mean, it makes some sense, but I wonder how much of the population being able to is “enough”.

Maybe…but since most players have settled on a 300K+ price point, there are not going to many people willing to drop $20 for less than that. And by waiting, they can make the price go back up (i.e. limiting supply)

Getting prices to “deflate” is very difficult and takes a long time

Good, it needs to crash

Ideally it would crash back down to the 110-150k price range of Shadowlands so the tokens would be affordable for casuals again

This sounds right. I played the mines BG and I had half the enemy team moving too robotic and in a line.

Several arenas too. I’m starting to think everyone is walking around with a pocket bot guild for whatever purpose.

And I’m the idiot for not seeing the forest for the trees.

This isn’t the first time the gold price for tokens has dropped a significant amount. There are enough people out there who would rather buy gold than farm it no matter how much the token fluctuates.

It also now makes the gold on Wrath Classic and going into Cata Classic more valuable as well since maintaining a sub is more important to classic, era, and SOD players than wallet funds are…which had gotten much more ridiculous with the 3rd party RMT than retail had.

Doesn’t blizzard just send you the gold no matter what after the time on the AH is over?

Yea I dont see why anyone would buy this low

whats your source for this information?

Blizzard themselves posts it monthly.

I remember when you use to be able to gear yourself for 11 to 15k as well. Not 220k like it is now. Just equiped by DK with 424 gear and it cost 224k roughly to do it. Anything under 300k+ and its not worth it anymore
