Flooding chat.
People not pulling their weight.
Impacts on game economies.
People making a living off a game.
Multiboxing.
Players getting gear they don’t deserve.
All of the above and more.
And I say that as someone super casual.
I don’t think boosters, gold sellers, gear sellers, rating sellers, Mount sellers alone should be banned. I think blizzard should remove the item/mount/rating levels the person paying for it got from it without returning the stuff they paid for it with.
I.e. If someone buys m+ clears for gold. The player selling the run should be banned, the player buying it should lose the gold they paid, the gear they bought, the rating they bought so it teaches them a lesson too.

This is a bit arrogant. The rest of your points have validity (for example, nobody likes a flooded chat)
But, who are you to decide what people deserve?
If you can’t clear it yourself you don’t deserve it.
That’s not arrogant that’s the ENTIRE mechanics of the game.
You deserve it if you obtain it yourself.
Nowhere near not this late in the season 20+ would be way better let alone mythic sells.
I don’t really have a problem with it outside of PvP (it shouldn’t really happen there) but I understand that point of view that it devalues content that those people couldn’t have defeated upon their own.

My only dislike towards boosting is the spam and scams, the act of boosting really doesn’t bother me, if people would rather pay with the gold they worked to get than bother with a pug or guild, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I still do not recommend it though, since it is unsupported and if you get scammed Blizzard won’t (and should not) help you.

Your statement is entirely idealistic.
Let’s take AOTC or a 15 key. Now, suppose instead of having someone pay for a carry, a person who is a complete noob in all respects of the game, happened to know friends who were willing to carry them through an AOTC run or a 15.
…based on your logic of “people not pulling their weight”, they don’t deserve it. And yet, helping friends has been core to MMOs as long as they’ve existed.
My problem is that they are usually paying real money for the carry by buying a token. If tokens didn’t exist and people were buying carries with gold that they had farmed themselves in game then I would have no problem with it.
I don’t have a problem with people helping out their friends or alts because it doesn’t have any real money attached to it.

I’m not really hung up on “deserving it” or whatever, but I think the average outcome of the two hypothetical individuals is quite different.
The person whose friends carried them to AotC will probably continue playing with friends and reach the point of being able to play in competitive content as a peer. On the other hand, the person who paid for a carry is likely to continue paying for carries.
So the long term impact is that one is much more likely to grow the pool of capable players to do things with than the other.

This seems to be the main reason players buy boosts, they want to get a few more 15s done, so they can use their currency for upgrades. Upgrades should only be currency based and not rating based. KSM is the reason players buy boosts on alts.
Difference is the act of paying for it.
It makes you scum.
losing a key because the tool with the highest raider io cant strafe and attack at the same time. clicking stuff that should be keybinded and keyboard turning out of the bad.
I don’t hate boosting.
I hate that all my channels are flooded with boosting advertisements. Shut the **** up already.

I don’t think people hate boosting so much as a practice in the game and are more frustrated with the types of people it enables to exist. I don’t think anybody legitimately cares someone paid gold for a carry through something to get spoonfed their stuff until it becomes a problem that impacts them. The dude who just accepts he’s only seeing content if he’s boosted and just routinely buys boosts impacts nobody really.
Whereas it’s more annoying when you have people that buy boosts as a means over a hurdle and try to forcibly integrate themselves in a climate they clearly aren’t ready for. Like the guy who buys KSM then starts trying to party finder +15 runs and plays like he struggles to time a 7. It’s when people started seeing that it became more of a problem. My guild in Vanilla sold gear in tiers 2 and 2.5 for gold and nobody really cared, was kind of common on Illidan before it was the Chinese hotspot due to Wrath being delayed in China and them settling on Illidan.
I was in a raid last expansion. A warlock guildmate of one of the players joined. They were 10+ ilvls higher than myself at the time. They were consistently near bottom damage for 5 bosses. Is that a carry buyer? Probably. This is why I don’t like boosters because there are tons of them just like that guy.
actuall what @phitz says. makes perfect sense.
The Pay-To-WhateverYouWannaCallIt element to it.
Trading in game gold you earned in game to hire the best of the best to clear out a raid for you is in-game roleplay, immersive and fun.
Trading $1000 for the same thing is Cheating via RMT if the money all goes to a 3rd party (remember when companies used to ban people for doing that?)… or Pay-To-Whatever if Blizzard takes a cut.
And, right on cue, anytime something sleezy or scummy is happening, Blizzards right there to take their taste. 25% of the action ($5 every $20 WoW Token sale). Like degenerate drug dealers.

Couldnt Agree More!!! how about you play this game your way and ill play it mine… Instead these people think everyone should play it there way! Not sure if anyone has ever mentioned this but “EVERYTHING ISNT ABOUT YOU OR JUST WHAT YOU WANT” If i want to pay $14 a month to sit in Stormwind and /yell I am paying for it not you. This “ME” generation is getting out of hand… And if you want to get on the topic of Gold buying/selling just look at retail, only the sellers are Blizzard! Im not taking a stance on gold buying or selling, But I am taking one on a small group of people trying to change the entire game to fit there way of playing.
There is a option to mute… do /help
And the boost Blizzard is selling is fine… lol so hypocritical its crazy, REAL MONEY is attached to every aspect of this game if you cant see that your BLIND!! IF it wasnt there wouldn’t be a game
