To the people complaining about 9.1

Thats the problem.

Because that content sucks bro. Give good content for good gear.

the gear is going to make you any better than what you already are…nt?

Exactly, as a raider, you can’t really gear up from raiding, because nothing drops. Essentially you have to gear up from M+. The Great Vault isn’t a complete disaster, but it’s not so great they should have done away with bonus rolls. The stygia option is better than nothing, and its a shame how often you chose it. If they are not buffing the raid loot drop percentage for 9.1, how in the heck are they fixing the raid loot issues? Ian said “Raiders we hear you…” was surprised he was listening at all with them continually giving us changes in systems no one is asking for.

What you described for 9.1 is about the same as any regular mid-expac content patch. A raid, a couple dungeons (Torghast is just a glorified dungeon with no useful loot), some zone content and a new grind for the expansion’s special ability feature. The difference is it’s taking 9 months to produce instead of 3. Reminds me of WoD in that regard. Shadowlands is definitely a better expac than WoD - the only similarity is the lack of investment in the product once it went live. I understand there are reasons, but that doesn’t change the fact that Shadowlands is shaping up to be an expansion with very little end game content when compared to most of the others.

Yeah going to be honest 9.1 seems more like 8.2 from bfa and that is crazy to me.

Im pretty sure they said covid-19 is slowing things down.People working from home ext.

I agree - COVID happened. But the work from home excuse? If that’s true then they pretty much sucked at the transition. Even a non-profit I helped last year handled the work from home thing without any great difficulty. It’s not exactly rocket science to hand people laptops and setup a decent VPN.

To put that into perspective - I’m friends with a 55 year old social studies teacher. She figured out for herself how to connect a MacBook and Windows laptop to several monitors, run google meets classrooms, installed addons to automatically take attendance, produced interactive, animated content through a brand new (to her) platform while designing a new, online curriculum that mirrored her previous in person version. She effectively produced a virtual version of everything she taught in the class in a normal year.

But somehow I’m expected to believe that a tech company that specializes in online games had trouble transitioning to working from home. Who do they have working for them? My grandma?

Many (not all) hate the above systens/zones

Well guys, face the facts, what we have here is that we’re still in BFA and there’s another patch of endless grinds, the useless system that stays the same, and more garbage content to make your time wasted lol. So yeah don’t even bother with this nonsense. At least Classic TBC is on the way. That will bring a breath of fresh air for your $15 a month.

From what I read, it’s them doubling down on making covenants feel even more inescapable, and tying even more power to them, combined with the team’s inability to balance the power of them.

I haven’t seen too many complaints about the content itself. It looks like a pretty good content patch, let’s just hope it feels more rewarding for all play styles this time.

Quantity doesn’t equal quality.

Blizzard can pull a Ubisoft, put in radio towers to climb and sprinkle the world with multitude of collectibles that are in total half worth of the time to get, and outposts to sneak in and kill everybody in and it wouldn’t exactly do anything to the quality. And before anybody tells me, i like them well enough, but there’s so many times you can do that over and over and over again until it just becomes plain padding. Also, no, Blizzard Collectibles worth more of your time then Ubisoft collectibles. So not really in the same ballpark here.

For this patch specifically…

  • Mega dungeons just dungeons but huge. There’s nothing particularly special outside of that. I mean Blackrock depths and other Classic dungeons are huge, and yet we don’t call them mega dungeons.
  • Raids are expected for major patches (with rare exceptions that i’l get to in a bit), so while the raid itself is new, the idea of raids being in a major patch isn’t new.
  • New zones are also sometimes expected for major patches.
  • And higher caps to existing currencies aren’t really content…

Also, i think it’s worth noting that the patch is centered around The Maw, whicg i don’t think a lot of people are hot of an idea on. Maybe that’s why they dislike 9.1?

Also…

Let’s get this meme out of the way here…

Yes, there is a selfie cam, but along with it comes and i’m quoting from wowhead..

  • While 6.1 does not introduce major content like a raid or new quest zone, there are many quality of life improvements and things to collect. Blackrock Foundry is also quite new and several LFR wings will open during 6.1.

  • The legendary questline continues, rewarding Garona Halforcen.

  • Collectors should be very happy with the introduction of heirloom collections, new battle pets, new toys, and music scrolls for the jukebox.

  • New daily quests are available from your level 3 Town Hall, which are designed to encourage more socialization and group content in the Garrison. We’ve added a guide to dailies!

  • There is new ilvl 670 Apexis Gear.

  • There are new mounts in the patch, including the extremely rare Voidtalon of the Dark Star.

  • There are several UI improvements including better colorblind options and anti-aliasing.

  • There’s also the new Death Recap feature - when you die a “recap” button is added to the UI, allowing you to see the most recent events leading up to your death.

In a numbered list its about equivalent, sure. But, Suramar is one of the best quest zones/campaigns they’ve ever made, I dont think covenant campaigns quite stack up to this. The Karazhan remix was one of the best dungeons they’ve ever made, and granted…new mega dungeon has potential to be great too, tbd. Artifact weapon expansion also just more interesting and influential to a class than soulbinds.

To clarify, I’m looking forward to 9.1, but 7.1 was one of the greatest .1 patches ever released.

The problem isn’t the content additions. It’s the problem that this expansion is tbe worst one they have released due to various design decisions made by the developers and 9.1 does nothing to fix this. Aoe cap, conduit energy and not being able to freely change between covenants. The fact that they are not addressing these problems leaves us at a point where id prefer another selfie cam patch

Soulbinds are boring because of the stupid limitation that is conduit energy makes me not even want to use the system

Torghast will continue to suck because it’s mandatory content for soul ash and the new currency, when you force players into something rather than actually incentivise them it becomes a chore

New zone will be like other zones from the past 2 xpacs world quests and rares.

Mega dungeon will be fun once or twice but gear will be replaced from it very quickly by the raid and m+

Raid is the only thing that will be somewhat good/long lasting content.

Raider io and Renown nobody really cares

It may have “more” content but that content isnt going to be good from what it seems

Yeah I guess that all counts as content.

But it’s nothing I am looking forward to. Selfie camera has much more replayability than the same old, same old of SL. And that’s saying a lot.

what even is the worgen racial? LMFAO

Not sure if sarcasm. But it’s a 2 min cd 10 sec speed buff by 40% it’s underpowered and needs a buff. Doesn’t stack with other speed buffs. Doesn’t reduce snares or roots. Doesn’t last that long, the cd is too long. It’s bad.

Please ask Blizzard to stop neglecting worgen and give us a somewhat decent racial ability.
It has been neglected since Cata and only seen nerfs since it was introduced, which is honestly the last thing it needs

Complaining is a hobby for some people. The sky is blue. Why not red! Water is wet. Whose idiotic idea was that?

Personally I don’t care if worgen get tails or not. I am a furry and I still don’t care. Sure I guess that would be cool but I’m pretty indifferent. The only thing I’m tired of is worgen getting the short end of the stick when it comes to racials which are clearly underpowered. Meanwhile Blizzard balances other race’s racials like every expac ie humans

There’s not much else I really have to complain about other than saying the wait for 9.1 is kinda killing me, but it looks really fun
