To the people complaining about 9.1

Legion 7.0 released July 2016, 7.1 released October 2016, 7.2 released March 2017 - total 8 months.
Shadowlands 9.0 released November 2020, 9.1 release…??? maybe August? - 8 months
(I think those dates are right).

So Legion released its initial content + 2 patches in the same time as we are probably going to get 1 patch.

You probably need to add up the content of 2 Legion patches to compare it to 9.1.

I was under the impression that we’ve always had borrowed power. Gear upgrades in the form of tier sets were borrowed power… eventually thrown out or replaced. The main difference is that the current iteration of borrowed power has a much larger impact on one’s performance than the ones before it did… it seems. I mean there’s also the fact that the current borrowed power systems also give you extra abilities that are eventually lost at the start of a new expansion, as you said, which kind of sucks if you’ve grown attached to them.

Minor content update and expansion of existing rental systems isn’t moving the needle. BlizZard set the expectations high by delaying the first patch for so long IMVHO.

:surfing_woman: :surfing_man:

Also kinda sucks that we have to wait an entire extra month for 9.1 because they decided to they want to release tbc classic in June

The complaints stem from the fact that it doesn’t address many of the problems of 9.0 that have made SL one of the worst expos ever.

According to who?

SL is alright, if they addressed some issues like conduits for offspecs, would be one of better expansions. Right now it’s average, def not worst.

Tho for OP, all those patches came quickly after launch, this one is 8 month or so into the expansion, that’s like near .2 patch.

Yep that’s been the cycle for 6 expansions now…after a decade of steadily losing subs, I think we can safely say the game is more sustainable than GD would like to think

They just like to complain.

Normal people try a patch’s content out, and complain afterwards when the content doesn’t meet expectation.

Complainers complain before even experiencing it.

The best expansion transition - IMHO - was to WoD. On my lock I had to do quite a bit of questing before I replaced all my Pandarian gear.

I collected some data about ilvls in epic bgs, i was unable to show that the average ilvl between horde/alliance players were different.

here’s my post which shows all the statistics i calculated

Those were all trash too.

Systems do not equal content. We did not need a new torghast system, we needed rewards for running it.

Not that
I am disagreeing with you, but to play devil’s advocate.

9.0 is among the smallest if not THE smallest Expansion intro patch wasn’t it?

I think looking at the amount of content per patch is unnecessarily picking apart the major issue: overall lack of content and/or padding patch features with unnecessary content?

I’m just offering this as a discussion point.

Legion gets a pass and SL doesn’t because Legion’s x.1 patch came out … less than 2 months after the launch of the expansion? There wasn’t TIME to get tired of Legion because it came out faster than anyone could have expected.

Why were people more excited for Legion’s mega-dungeon than SL’s mega-dungeon? Should be obvious, but I’ll say it anyway:
BECAUSE KARAZHAN WAS AND STILL IS A FAN FAVORITE, PEOPLE WERE WANTING TO GO BACK FOR A LONG TIME AND THERE IS JUST NOT AS MUCH HYPE FOR TAZAVESH AS THERE WAS FOR KARAZHAN.

I don’t believe that 9.1 taking 6 months post-launch was just because of Covid. I can’t believe it, I just can’t.
Yes, there were delays throughout the industry, but they had plenty of time to adjust to working from home. Most places shut down in March of last year and sent people home in March or April. Of last year. We’re over a year later and they haven’t adjusted yet? There’s more to it than that. There has to be.

I’m not even angry anymore. I want to be angry, I want to feel something right now, anything, but I’m not able to do it anymore. WoW means a lot to me and being told to suck it up and not feel upset about it or move on kills me. I just want Blizzard to stop inventing problems (conduit energy, flying, torghast, etc.) with systems that people want to like and instead focus on making the systems polished and working properly, and react to problems as they arise rather than spending extra dev time on solving something that isn’t a problem yet.

Did you mean the same kind of activities as 9.0 to fill up a thing I already didn’t enjoy filling the first time?

It’s recycled, renamed ‘content’.

That’s what’s the problem.

i ain’t complaining just about attempted garbage tier sets just to make you play more instead of just having regular tier sets and done wasted systems to make more grind to activate the tier cause i never wanna see this kind of garbage in the game again and the dumbness of devs for not adding tier or something to all endgame or completely disabled but common sense seems lacking there’s more to endgame than raiding. other than that it’s ok don’t like torghast but won’t be long i will have what i need from there and done with it again so thats good. thereisn’t alot to do if you don’t do endgame everything about korthia is all endgame grinds or gear alts i guess if you play i’m glad only a few dailies not like many like them.

they just ain’t that good at there job if it hasn’t been obvious for along time.

the new zone is a joke dude it barely has anything, less than half a timeless isle. The only major work they did was the PvP talents rework which is being completely obscured by the fact they didnt give a single F about all the complains with the gear system, still a ridiculous IL gap between ranks and of top of the 7 tiers on the honor gear they timegated it til renown 59? like lmao might as well not put any honor gear in the first place that shiet is completely obsolete in a month.
