Reality? You really think there were no addons in Vanilla? I mean come on, Decursive, CTRA, ORA, Healbot, and others all existed in Vanilla, some were even before launch.

Try looking at some old vanilla videos, you are bound to see some

I played with Atlas back in Vanilla. I’ve never been on a private server. I also remember debating with someone about the utility of addons in WoW vs. the UI in Asheron’s Call 2 on the AC2 forums. AC2 first died at the end of 2005.
