To Night Elf Fans

Don’t get swept up in the hype. They’ve still answered nothing.

Not true!

The Maw
This horrific prison houses the most vile and irredeemable souls in existence—ones deemed by the Arbiter to represent a threat to the Shadowlands if left free. Ruled by the enigmatic Jailer who none have ever seen—at least none have seen and lived to tell—the Maw inspires nightmares and legends even among the denizens of the Shadowlands. No one has ever escaped this vile place, and any foolish enough to venture there are never heard from again.

… all souls who have perished—including the innocents slain at Teldrassil—are being funneled directly into the Maw.

We know where the Night Elf dead are now. Elune Adore!

I essentially grew up in Teldrassil. I spent a ton of my formative years IRL in those boughs. It’s not like I am going to forget or forgive like… ever. I am 100% with Tyrande.

So Blizzard only has even more to answer for.

Tyrande probibly will be part of the end game campaign of Ardenweald. That is a thread they put there intentionally, I suspect.

wait… blizzard is condemning the innocents of teldrassil to a place that only the most evil guys in existence go?..

Yes.

But everyone that’s died in the last “few years” has apparently gone there. But Blizzard felt the need to point out the Teldrassil victims specifically, so hopefully they get equal attention in the campaign.

i guess that… we have to save them… right?? and that will be the plot… RIGHT?! Dammit.

I mean we are going to the Shadowland to hopefully put things right. I assume we end up freeing all those souls.

Of course.

However, during the Shadowlands stream they showed a picture of Teldrassil burning (causing cheers! from the audience) and specifically called out the victims of that event as going to ‘hell’ in the above descriptions.

Either they’re still milking that cow while they can or they have intentions to do something special for those dead Night Elves.

I’m not feeling too optimistic today.

-Warcraft is a dark place. Just ask the Draenei: We trashed their homeworld and tortured its last uncorrupted children for tens of thousands of years. We’re downright cruel. I’ve never met a more sadistic team of story folk.

Warcraft is milk chocolate. Just because they burned it in ineptitude doesn’t make it dark chocolate. And their writers patting themselves on the back because people still buy it after doesn’t make them chocolatiers.

Varian is probably in the maw too, and saurfang, wow its like sylvanas is trying to kill everyone

Warcraft is the children’s table of fantasy. Just because little Bobby is starting to appreciate the color black and edgy poetry doesn’t mean he can sit with the adults.

What hype?

We don’t know how far back the Maw has been devouring souls. We know that there are characters in the other realms.

Ion said that all souls have been going there the last few years, legion is only like 2 years ago in wow lore

The only thing I might draw from this is it might explain why the Undead NEs had such a hatred for Elune coming back. Getting dumped in Hell and then getting pulled back would probably make you feel pretty betrayed by the God you had devoted yourself to.

I would laugh my butt off if this happened since it would probably involve her working with Horde players again since they said there isn’t going to be faction specific questing.

At least I could say I predicted at least one thing right it this turns out to be the case.
