I’m against RDF, but I would accept it if you didn’t teleport to the dungeon.
Portals and making the game feel like a lobby game are one of the biggest world killers out there.

I’ll just reply with your words:
Same here then since you are still going.
Along with grouping people outside your realm, incentivizing tanks to sell their spot and muck with the queue, fostering an environment where people in dungeons are toxic because there’s no consequence in dropping, etc…
All reasons why I am against RDF.
My man has been here 3 seconds and already stated their opinion. Good job! That’s what we’ve wanted Elfz to do for hours now lol.
Granted I disagree on some of the points since there isn’t a pool of cross-realmed tanks to pull from I can 100% sell my spot in a dungeon at most hours of the day if I so desired.
I’m honestly a bit surprised that RDF wasn’t included for old world content.
I’d like to see it opened up there, but I don’t think it’s needed for current content (at least at this moment. Maybe later, but if not that’s fine too).
I have never really understood this particular objection in a world with functional summoning stones and warlock portals. Is this a PvP related condition?
Summoning stones and warlocks have caveats about them - as in you need some people there and a a cooperative ability to get others to arrive. It meshed with the fabric of skillsets.
World PvP would be a reasonable objection in my mind, after all never having to leave the city would kill it more than it already is. That being said, PvE servers exist so that already kinda scrapped if people didn’t want to be in it. Got no argument against the summoning stones and warlocks point though, so fair enough.
Actually I guess I do in hindsigh. With epic flight easily available to people who decided to quest in the later game zones, the trek to the dungeons isn’t even that far. I suppose it weeds out the lazy players though so I guess the point still stands.
Interesting, thank you. That’s a perspective I had not considered. I’m not sure if it’s enough distinction for me to change my opinion, but it warrants further thought.
I’m just happy that people joined to actually talk. At the end of the day I don’t care either way myself. As a tank I will always be wanted somewhere and the trek between dungeons isn’t that bad. If I got ported to it it would just turn a 12 minute dungeon into an 11 minute dungeons haha.
Sure, because removal of RDF will stop people from being toxic towards players with less than optimal equipment who would like to find dungeon group to get properly geared.
And that’s not even the main issue here, there is nothing wrong with not inviting players who would get your entire group wiped, however having RDF to at least give them chance and then having vote kick option if they prevent the entire group from advancing through the dungeon was better than current situation.
Once again however that can be overcome if one put more effort.
On the other hand, you can put all the effort to travel from quest site to the dungeon entrance on the opposite side of Azeroth and it be only wasted time.
There will always have to be at least two players who would carry others, in terms of travel the distance instead of doing quests and provide summon via meeting stone for the others.
As a tank myself (and healer and occasionally Ret) I agree, for current content.
This is less true for old world content. Which is where I feel rdf is needed the most.
Oh 100%. If I were to level an alt right now I would skip literally all group content as the odds of finding people is slim to none. But i think to fix that would require Cross-realm as well so the lower level players from all servers could do the group quests. I don’t really have an opinion on cross realm stuff personally. If it happens it’s whatever and if it doesn’t oh well. I already have a guild to play with anyway
You invented this claim.
No it wasn’t
He’s back!
Yeah, it’s not like this is the most notable complain from people who would like to have RDF back. I’ve invented the claim.
Do you realize how utterly wrong does it sound? If I would exaggerate bit, you could also say that certain players have no right to be playing WoW at all.
I really don’t get these posts. Were you appointed the speaker for the whole community? How do you come on here with a post to END the rdf discussion when you speak for nobody except yourself. Get over yourself seriously. I don’t care if they have it or not as I am a social person. I have friends to play with. I have a guild. I am also not afraid to make my own group. I do however hate these terrible takes and flawed logic that most posts in these forums make. Your first sentence is beyond cringe. “The only way forward”. Whatever happened to the days when people would stop and think “is this a good idea?” “Should I post this?” etc etc. This has main character syndrome all over it.
edit-typo wrote points and not posts first sentence.
We already covered this. The game will be how we want it. You think someone owes you an explanation. You aren’t important. You don’t dictate some rule where people owe you something. We don’t need to explain anything to you. Blizzard already made the wrong choice. But they will correct it. They matter. You don’t.
People just like to talk dramatically to emphasize their points. It can come off rather try hardish at times but it’s easier to just try to ignore the cringe and look for the point sometimes.
