In the official preview, the armor shown looks great! But it’s also unfamiliar, which raises questions if it’s “real” armor, versus some sort of Barbershop feature?
Obviously, I ask because previous comments from one of the devs suggested they wouldn’t be able to wear traditional armor. If they can indeed transmog normal Mail armor, that would obviously be an ENORMOUS announcement, on something that’s never really been clarified either way.
Is it normal to know this little about a new race? Was it like this with Pandaren? It seems baffling to me to unveil a new race as a selling point to an expansion and then reveal as little information about them as possible.
I’m pretty sure there was an official comment saying Dracthyr form had it’s own barbershop-assigned armor in one of the many interviews that happened after the DF reveal, but I doubt I’d be able to find it now.
Considering dragons have always had the ability to assume a humanoid form to communicate with various bipedal races, it would have been weird if visage form wasn’t a thing even if Dracthyr COULD fly on their own.
Right, which is why I’m so curious about this. There’s no indication either way.
The reason it’s in question, is because previously one of the Devs said they wouldn’t be able to wear normal armor. So it raises the question, have they changed their stance on that? I certainly hope so.
I’m kinda split on it, of course it would be disappointing to not be able to use the armor you’ve farmed for transmog, but at the same time unique body shapes make a lot of armor look bad, like good luck finding good plate helms and shoulders for male undead that don’t have severe clipping and weird angles.
If it is mainly barbershop customization, I’ll be fine if there’s enough variety and pieces that can be unlocked as gameplay rewards for the benefit of the custom fitting.
