To clarify; the Dracthyr CAN wear armor? They can transmog normal Mail armor?

In the official preview, the armor shown looks great! But it’s also unfamiliar, which raises questions if it’s “real” armor, versus some sort of Barbershop feature?

Obviously, I ask because previous comments from one of the devs suggested they wouldn’t be able to wear traditional armor. If they can indeed transmog normal Mail armor, that would obviously be an ENORMOUS announcement, on something that’s never really been clarified either way.

They wear armor in their stupid visage form. Their Dracthyr form is barbershop customization.

That’s what I’m wondering. I haven’t see any OFFICIAL comment on it either way, though. I’m trying not to jump to any conclusions.

Definitely a huge concern if it’s barber-shop, though.

Visage form wear armor like a normal elf does.

Dracthyrs true form can wear armor but it’s limited to only a few slots (visually) and this might still be handled by a barbershop option.

Given the supposed preview on the Dracthyr today, I’m hoping Blizzard will give us a definitive answer on this.

And really, that answer needs to be “yes, they can wear and transmog armor normally”. Because if it’s Barbershop-only “armor”… hoo boy…

wait…The dragon form is only… barber shop??? Huuuh?

It’s just basically tabard type things that they wear. They don’t wear armor. They’re like Maloriak: a dragon experiment.

So ur actually the humanoid form? …

Is it normal to know this little about a new race? Was it like this with Pandaren? It seems baffling to me to unveil a new race as a selling point to an expansion and then reveal as little information about them as possible.

The stupid visage form only exists so Blizz could be lazy and not program Dracthyr to fly or be their own mount. It works like Worgen.

The better comparison would be Worgen, and yes, it was like this with them, as well, because of the two forms.

I believe its back, waists and tabards

oh I see makes sense.

I’m pretty sure there was an official comment saying Dracthyr form had it’s own barbershop-assigned armor in one of the many interviews that happened after the DF reveal, but I doubt I’d be able to find it now.

Considering dragons have always had the ability to assume a humanoid form to communicate with various bipedal races, it would have been weird if visage form wasn’t a thing even if Dracthyr COULD fly on their own.

THis is from todays Blue Post

No where does it say anything about being Baber Shop only

Not really. Even with their original look, we saw them wearing recognizable armor sets.

This is definitely uncharted territory.

Right, which is why I’m so curious about this. There’s no indication either way.

The reason it’s in question, is because previously one of the Devs said they wouldn’t be able to wear normal armor. So it raises the question, have they changed their stance on that? I certainly hope so.

Now it is possible that the whole barbershop thing is prior to this and people are going off of that and not what was posted today .

I’m kinda split on it, of course it would be disappointing to not be able to use the armor you’ve farmed for transmog, but at the same time unique body shapes make a lot of armor look bad, like good luck finding good plate helms and shoulders for male undead that don’t have severe clipping and weird angles.

If it is mainly barbershop customization, I’ll be fine if there’s enough variety and pieces that can be unlocked as gameplay rewards for the benefit of the custom fitting.
