I agree, but they don’t. I came back for Classic thinking that it would be different. That the same voices that helped ruin the game the first time around wouldn’t be here, but I was wrong. They’ve followed us here. They think “Oh, we can just stop when I get the changes I want”, but it never works like that. They apparently have to learn the hard way. Again.
Why don’t we just add the entirety of all features added up to the current version of retail WoW. LFR. LFD. Transmog. Artifact Weapons. Legendary Drops. Covenants. Currencies. Warfronts. Garrisons. After all, if you don’t like any particular thing, just don’t use it, right?
Utterly frivolous logic is frivolous.
This is technically true. But we’ve been down this road before. Pretty much every change that happened between Wrath and Legion happened because people asked for them, right? Dual spec, LFD, LFR, different raid difficulties, ect. To me, it’s reasonable that, if we have people asking for dual spec now, we’ll probably have people asking for those other things at some point in the future. People are already asking for LFD. It’s not super big brain thinking to realize retracing your steps will get you to the same place it got you last time.
I mostly quest and farm on my dps druid like a single player game. I don’t do many dungeons because with the tank and healer shortage it’s hard to find a group as dps If there was dual spec I’d have a dps and a resto spec and I’d group up a lot to heal dungeons.
It’s such a tragedy your hybrid class can’t spec into multiple talent trees at a whim, a button press.
That’s not how this works. If you want to heal, heal. If you want to dps, do so. You were never supposed to be able to do everything all the time. That is counter intuitive to any MMORPG or game where you need to cooperate with others.
Dual spec isn’t a multi use general bandaid. It doesn’t serve to fix the game. It makes the game lesser.
Go back to retail.
Yes i get that.
Im just saying that when someone says they are against a change because of that, they are nit really against the change. Its the potential change that may come next.
Ok get that. This is what im saying about that. If blizz said they would take a vote for any change. If ANY person was against it then they would not make the change.
First change. LFD. Everyone votes yes but one person votes no. So LfD is not added. Next change, Dual spec, everyone votes yes, one person votes no so it doesnt get implemented. The one No vote says they dont even care about dual spec they are just worried about the slippery slope. Wtf? Save your no vote for the actual change u dont want. Dont ckblock an idea u dont care about just because u dont want the next one that wilk inevitably come. Just vote no when it comes. If you can stop this change, then u can stop that change.
I’m just pointing out that your asinine comment that dual spec will foster solo play is nonsense. Dual spec will cause more people to group more often for pvp and dungeon groups. You’re just completely wrong.
You aren’t eligible to discuss or vote on anything due to being a brainwashed retail player. Anyone who reads this hears a child bartering without any actual idea what you’re talking about. How difficult is it to realize retail bad, classic good? Stop asking for retail when it’s already available and everyone here is trying to get away from it. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
How about you go back to retail where all the garbage is since you guys can’t go on without it.
I didn’t read your post I saw a bunch of caps and elementary grammar. You’re a child. Go away.
This is a false dilemma. I can think flying ruined the spirit of the game while simultaneously still finding the game enjoyable even with an aspect I think was exceptionally harmful. It is no different than cross server BGs in Classic. It very much ruined Classic BGs for me. I still played them. I still enjoyed them. But the aspect of the BGs that was truly fun was gone. There was no rivalry. There was no forum trash talking. Everyone in a BG might as well have just been a bot for all I cared. It was not the same experience and it definitely was not as fun. It was, in fact, ruined. Playable? Yes. Enjoyable? Also yes. But not on the same level. Not even close.
This is absolutely an asinine take on things if you ask me. Do I want tbc as it was? Absolutely, not even a question. But the thing about this is you will never and I mean never get that back.
I also wanted classic vanilla the way it was back then. But believe it or not, leaving some pieces untouched, actually goes AGAINST this direction and goal. I keep bringing it up but look at world buffs. Them not touching world buffs and leaving it “the way it was” back in vanilla, without a fraction of a doubt changed the game more than any of the actual ‘changes’ ever even came close to changing it. So your whole take of “well if you actually want classic then you should want it the way it was” is just nonsense. There’s nothing more to it.
The classic versions of the game should stay as close to the original version of the game possible, but if there is a change that could potentially benefit participation of that game and doesn’t have a massive negative impact on it then I see no harm in actually adding it. Zelda games do this all the time with their HD versions of the games. They add slight minor little tweaks to the game that is different from the original but it can still feel like you’re playing the original game.
Wow is different as the climate of the game can change drastically simply with how the community plays it. Which is why leaving some features untouched can actually go against the goal you are attempting to recreate.
Just because I think one little feature that is so extremely minor to the actual overall feel of the game, can actually make the game more fun without taking any of the classic feel away from it, doesn’t mean that I ‘don’t want tbc’ that’s absolutely ridiculous and you know it.
Yes add Duel spec. add transmog, add LFG, add LFR… everything retail has. because we need 2 ways to play retail. please add all these for people will stop asking for more stuff. It wont stop till its all added, get it over with. then when retail beta testing is over and dead. merge all the beta test servers and open what people wanted from the get go. Fresh NO change servers.
They should also change the talent trees to the retail ones.
And they should add Warmode
Lets also get personal loot
And if possible, can LFG and LFR be added?
While we’re at it, let’s add pet battles!
Oh oh! And WoW tokens too!
This is why we wanted no changes. The slippery slope has already begun the avalanche, and there is nothing stopping anyone from requesting things like the listed above. Some of which has already been requested on these forums. It is chaos, and goes against the spirit of there being a Classic version of the game.
The other things you listed have actual arguments against them. Dual spec doesn’t. Quit lumping in a change like dual spec with things like lfr it makes your argument look dumb and it makes you look dumb for not being able to differentiate the difference between them.
so you think if they add duel spec it would be over? naw add duel spec then the I want change will look for new things that can be added “with no effect to the game”. so add it all duel spec will only please a handfull of people. I get it you want it… I am all for you getting it.
neither of us are going to use it until wrath
This simplistic black and white view of retail and classic is a child like view of a complex subject. Retail is made up of good changes and bad changes. Vanilla BC and Wrath had good ideas and flaws. The original devs weren’t gods. just men who made a good but flawed video game. Like all of us the made mistakes.
I know right.
yeah people don’t see it… HvH was a thing just last month. “i want this it has no effect on gameplay”. they get it added… as soon as that happend 20 post about DS opened up and still are. Some for it ,more do not… to think it will end there is dumb. every added QoL change thus far has made people unsub. these people posting DS will help. think it will bring back the 300k subs (in 2 months) lost since boost announcements. that they also said “will have no effect to the game”. people came to play classic how it was.
But most of them have gotten almost zero support from the players. It’s a false equivalency to compare changes that get almost no support from the players to dual spec that has overwhelming support
Link to your source that bc lost 300k subs in 2 months since boost announcement. I think you’re just pulling numbers out of your azz
