My muscles don’t need your advice.
Ret pally and shadow priests are leeches
- Play what you want.
- Stop telling others not to play what they want.
That is all.
I feel like there are 2 totally different stories happening in this thread.
The OP is making note of how significant a difference a single healer can make in a BG.
Others are making this out to be someone telling others what to play. I would suspect that the best Spriest/Ret in the world will not make as significant a difference to a BG as an average healer can, though strong leadership in a BG can make a big difference also.
I enjoy the perspective I’m experiencing in BGs as a mage, because in some cases, the contribution can feel relatively meaningful, however when I heal, I’ve personally (anecdotally) noticed that my performance has a significant overall impact on my win ratio.
That’s the point being made.
Shadow priests are notoriously strong PVPers that can slow down melee and completely shut down casters for a few seconds allowing their teammates to stomp them. Not sure what this post is about. Let people play what they want.
lol imagine thinking SPriest isn’t one of the strongest pvp specs.
Now ret pally I’d agree. Most of them aren’t geared enough to be more than a free hk and it’s rare for one to actually help the team via dispells/blessings. They usually just tunnel vision in and die.
Less SPriests would be a good thing because those guys are just nasty to deal with.
Shadowpriest pvp is pretty deadly. Not sure why you’d want less of those.
I am not saying that shadowpriests are bad BG DPS, although they have mana issues and can’t last in a sustained push.
I am saying that if those same DPS were healing instead, their contribution would be far greater, especially since currently PuG groups are way underhealed on average.
I think he’s talking about the lack of healers in PUGs. Really, it’s no different than being a mage or another one of the warriors that seem to make up 50% of PUGs. The only way to fix it would be for Blizzard to put in the queue as healer or DPS thing which they will not do.
I mean, that’s assuming they’re any good at pvp healing, an entirely different skillset.
I imagine your statement might be true for someone equally skilled in both roles, though.
From 0% to 0% against premades
No. I don’t heal for pugs. It’s not fun. Nobody peels for you and you’re always the first one focused and killed, so even if your team wins the fight, you get 0 honor for it. If I am on an organized team and we are filling specific roles, I am happy to respec Disc and heal for the team. If I am solo queing, I am there to kill the enemy and have fun. I still bubble and dispell and even occasionally shift out of shadow to heal a clutch play.
I go into BGs to melt faces and you’re just jealous that I have a higher killing blow count than you do. Play smarter, don’t charge into 5 people by yourself and expect a healer to save you.
TL;DR Stop acting entitled and play better.
Why? Why put the onus on some players instead of all? Tell all the non healing classes to roll healer. It’s the same concept and in fact will be better than telling the already minimal healing players to heal more.
There isn’t much healing skill needed, in my opinion. Due to batching, juking is not worth it, so you just spam fast heals at low health raid frames, and dispel CC. That’s enough to contribute more than a masterful spriest can, outside of raid leadership, which is not spec dependant.
This is the big reason. If I’m a single healer then I usually get ganged up on except for the 12 seconds every 5 minutes I get to actually not see a the rez ghost
You are entitled to your opinion.
It’s funny how this doesn’t pertain to feral/balance druids. But they are more rare it feels like
Exactly! Let’s rephrase the OP in another way.
“I demand that you play a spec that makes you unable to protect yourself at all, paints a big giant bullseye on your head drawing all the enemies to you first, and starves you for honor every time you are the first one to die.”
Again, for an organized team where we are filling roles and people know how to peel. Sure, I’m happy to heal. For random pugs? Hells naw.
It’s not like I don’t personally heal me or others when I know I can free cast and won’t end up focused. I just want to live damnit.
