I play both male and female, I probably have more female characters though and the reason why is because they look better than the male characters, they also look good in most of the mog sets.
The person who introduced me to WoW actually only played female characters and he told me this was the exact reason why he did it. He was proud, and gloated quite often, which turned my stomach if Iâm being incredibly honest.
He was also in his 20âs, and not a kid, so itâs definitely different than your situation. He was just a pixelated gold junky who would use his poor female characters to get gold, mounts and nice armor/weapons.
I donât always, but I generally do. Mostly because the models tend to be smaller, so I can see more of whatâs going on around me, but also because subconsciously I think people tend to underestimate female characters, and Iâll happily blow that stereotype away.
Males who pick female characters:
-
gay. (True sense of the word and that is okay)
-
he is embarassed about playing a video game and in his mind it makes it more adult somehow if he is playing a female character. (This shows an underdeveloped view of the male and female relationships)
-
He plays a RPG as we would play a tamagochi, somekind of nursing game. And to him it feels more natural to pet a female entity, then a male one. (Also not a heathy view of females)
To me itâs deeply disurbing when a straight male plays female character. To me it means there is something wrong with him deep down. And I just worry about his wife or girlfriend.
Oh god, all those years of Tomb Raider.
Who am I?!
certain class/races as females have better animations in my opinionâŚi personally like female BE roguesâŚI love when they stealth and are standing still they just kneel on the floor with both hands on the ground idk why I find that coolâŚ
Donât worry about my wife or girlfriend, thatâs deeply disturbing. Thereâs something wrong with you deep down.
These are the typical ignorant conclusions people have about why other guys play female characters⌠but itâs just wrong and clearly homophobic.
0/10 and you should feel bad for not using the search function! tisk, tisk, tisk!
Iâd rather be staring at a femaleâs butt all day than a males when I play my character⌠Fact
I exude so much manliness that i need something to suppress a fraction of it.
Lara Croft incognito?
Hey, well, first thing first: Itâs a game, and I have a free will, so whatâs stopping me? Secondly, itâs all about aesthetics, how my brain works. As some people have said here, male models are strange looking, some people like them and itâs fine, but I donât (theyâre freaking ugly), except for male blood elves, but I donât play horde.
I like playing female characters because they look better, thatâs all, and specially female gnomes because they look cute af, and I have a thing for miniatures in general.
I donât identify as my character at all, and I donât RP with them. I tried once and I will never do it again unless I do it as a male character instead, RP is a bit crazy.
And about WoW being a role playing game, well, the thing about the role playing experience I like the most is character development, playing the content, regardless of what Iâm using to do it. Hey but if blizzard introduces playable murlocs I will definitely play a male one.
You are free, do whatever you want, play as you want, if you are a male and feel like a female (an the other way around), thatâs you and I respect it, everybody else should do the same.
I have both male and female toons. The melee tend to be male, and the casters tend to be female because for some reason the male casting animations are awful. Go make a male night elf and see for yourself.
Boobies ftw!
Female Undead casting, movement, and emote animations, as well as their emote sounds, are creepier than male Undead, and I love that.
The slightly disturbing, unreal movement and animations of female NB, and that their tall, thin bodies and long arms lend added eeriness to the class gear, make them great choices aesthetically for one of my visions of a warlock.
Female Orcs are very versatile. Gear and weapons fit and are sized very well, theyâve got some of my favorite hair styles, and (as with female Undead) the Bloody Visage masks look great on them. Love my female Orc DK and rogue.
For everything else itâs a mix of male Tauren, Zandalari, and Orc.
I play a female character mostly on Alliance, all the alliance male characters run like they have a stick up their you know what. They look awkward even in combat animations. Females have better looking mogs plus combat animations.
On the Horde side though I play mostly male characters like orcs, taurens, and even trolls just because they look badarse and even attacking with cool animations.
Because I could
I am a MAN and i like WOMANâŚ
so why not stare at a WOMAN for hours?
also better animations! for casters
Variety. I have about a 50/50 Male/Female split. Sometimes, I feel like making a female character, sometimes I feel like making a male character. Sometimes, females are more aesthetically appealing, sometimes the males are.
Also, male Pandaren models are absolutely the worst. Straighten their back up and give them a stockier look - not this slunched-over slob appearance they have-, then maybe weâll talk.
