I did an experiment last night. I renamed one of my Hunter’s pets to Vyragosa. and I went to somebody I suspected of auto-clicking. The person had stacked on me hours earlier, and forced me to move (mainly because I suspected he was an auto-clicker). The INSTANT I landed, he was targeting my pet.
I mounted up, flew up until my pet disappeared and he dropped his target. Dismounted again. and he was instantly targeting my pet again. I repeated it several times. Always the same result.
When I say instant, I mean instant. It wasn’t one second later. Nobody is scrolling their mouse button for hours and hours and hours like that, especially if they haven’t moved a muscle.
So I flew over to tell somebody I had been camping with, and THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. I whispered him, and he said he was busy with work. Again, I repeated the test with him several times, and he instantly targeted again and again and again.
When he finally responded to my whispers, he told me he was spamming F12. When I told him I didn’t believe him, he said, “Mousewheel?” He was sitting there, all alone, at Ulduar. No need to be spamming a target macro, and it’s very difficult to do so if you’re at work.
Seriously, how can anybody farm the TLPD if everybody is running auto-clickers? Sure, they might get banned, but that doesn’t help the person they steal the mount from.
I’ve been camping the TLPD for about a month. I’ve been fortunate to have layers and enough places to camp without stacking so I’ve personally logged 16 Vyragosa kills (and tracked more than 50 Vyra kills and 2 TLPD kills) so far. Now that layers are gone, people are stacking all over me (I never stack somebody who is already there). It’s really disheartening to know that I may never get this mount because the stackers are probably auto-clicking. My finger just can’t keep up.
Can’t something be done about this? I reported both of these people. I even, reluctantly, reported the person I knew because I feel it’s unfair to other players.
