in gameon retail my name shows up but no title besides it for me or others.
Sometimes titles get toggled off, seemingly at random.
Try reapplying a title from your character panel. There is an option for titles along the top right of the stats screen.
Not everyone has a title attached (most of my alts don’t) so not seeing them on others isn’t necessarily something to worry about.

Try a full UI reset then and see if that helps.

If you use addons, consider getting Advanced Interface Options - it makes many settings toggles that are no longer shown in the base game UI visible again.
I can’t check right now, but I believe one option in it is to show character titles - likely a CVar toggle also, but more accessible with the checkbox in the addon.
If memory serves, showing titles was defaulted to off at some point in Retail.
I will look into it further and edit my post if I’m mistaken.

If you scroll down on the addon’s description, you will see one of the first options it mentions opening up being Player Titles.
