The reason why everyone “gets entangled in the entitlement side of the argument” is that you guys are fixated on it. You can’t stop from bringing it up, because that’s the whole reason this discussion exists.
It’s not the fault of titanforging that the power gap exists between raid tiers or different types of players. This power gap exists because devs want it there, and it would be there regardless of what mechanism they used to make it happen.
Go back and re-read the first post.
“Somebody got something they didn’t deserve, and it makes me feel bad, therefore it’s bad for the game. I deserve better stuff and those people should get a lot less.”
Come on, that sounds horrible, and you know it. And that’s the reason why you need to dig so deep to try to find “reasons” to blame “titanforging”.
A big problem with TF is the lack of cap. Nothing sucks more than getting to bosses or content and sometimes the entire group doesn’t need things on first kills because lesser version of that boss or other lower content gave something better. While it is nice when items upgrade some seeing things from LFR or normal make mythic versions of gear obsolete is a bit silly. Sure it is supposed to be rare but I have seen it more than enough to know it causes issues. Mythic G’huun is a good example of this due to the loot table and the ease to kill lesser version, many skipped redoing the fight because it wasn’t worth the time for the lack luster reward.
Well that’s strange. Don’t see that in the OP at all. Regardless we really need to stop trying to make it about “sticking it to the casuals” and look at it objectively instead of remaining blind to the issues.
And if you think “what’s good for the game” is making it easier for raiders but tougher for casuals, but you don’t want to be though of as supporting a position that is “sticking it to the casuals”, perhaps you should rethink your position.
A game that panders to a tiny percentage of players in order to make them feel better by making the overwhelming majority feel worse is doomed.
But that’s not what he said. You’re seeing what you want to see instead of what he typed.
How does removing titanforging make the game easier for raiders? We’d still have to do the raid itself. Also we have Mythic + and PvP as other paths for gearing. It’s not “raid or die” so what are you even going on about?
Please locate a post that I’ve made where I stated that the best gear should only come from raiding. I’ll let you take your time in getting it together. Otherwise, we have nothing to discuss.
So, I’ll let you find the post where I state those exact words.
Just out of curiosity I took a gander at his post history. It’s rather contradictory. He’s a fan of raider io. He didn’t like the days that skilled people could beat geared people. He says he’s a pvp’er? (lol at the combination of those). He talks a lot of trash about this expansion. He thinks that M+ has a vendor when there’s just an azerite vendor and he cries about pvp not having one. His posts absolutely do try to crap on people who he perceives to be “less deserving”.
