How about this… explain to me what was wrong with the gear and progression system in Wrath.
I was not max level in wrath so I can’t give an opinion on that.
I agree, and in this spirit the mythic+ cache needs be removed.
It over rewards by a lot relative to difficulty.
So these CM are just AI Bots correct?
They literally phrase all their answers like an old AIM bot trying to learn how to gather the most information without actually replying.
Going back to only one way to get gear is going backwards not forwards.
A +10 shouldn’t give a guaranteed 410 item and every few weeks 415 azerite.
The cache is too rewarding.
keep it just at the dungeon loot and add azerite to the dungeon tables.
Same way as all the other complaints of difficulty relative to loot.
no need to be rude, the cm is trying their best to explain things here.
I don’t do those high level keys, but that was content put in the game for people who want challenging content but for various reasons can’t do mythic raiding and an alternative way for mythic raiders to get gear without repeatedly doing the same raid over and over again on various difficulties.
These were both things the community wanted.
I , like, _literally, _ laughed when I read this.
Well a +10 isn’t even close to a mythic boss (sans champion). You even get a pity 20% buff if you fail the timer and still get mythic loot.
Difficulty not matching reward.
Maybe make it a +15 to get the chest.
This whole thread is about loot showers that don’t reflect their difficulty. Mythic+ cache is the biggest one. it’s the most frequent, guaranteed, covers all slots, highest base item level, and can be 415 azerite.
I’ve felt there’s not enough to do thats meaningful/fun yes.
You don’t really work for anything, its just a grind anymore.
I only still sub to play with some friends, otherwise I’d have dropped months ago.
Better than old days when all there was is raiding and arenas
I can’t disagree that maybe some of the base ilvl of the content are out of line with others if you are looking straight at the gear and the difficulty of the content.
But that gear is serving another purpose in this game and that is to give people a reason to play.
I imagine they had stats on what people who only do mythic plus dungeons had in terms of gear and adjusted accordingly.
This doesn’t solve anything. You’re making the game raid or die and the whole point of current systems is to kill that system cause it’s bad
That used to be the way things worked, yes, but now there’s literally multiple lines of progression. There’s PVP progression (something else I don’t do), Raiding progression, dungeoning progression, and overworld progression. I guess I’d lump warfronts in with overworld. People can do one, or all of those of things, whatever suits them the best, and the rewards for those activities need to be generally equivalent. Generally. Raiding is always gonna be the highest rewards, and titanforging up to a mythic raid piece is such a rare chance it’s almost like getting a legendary from back in Legion and I like that chance.
Bring back the valor meter and +4ing gear.
Constant character progression is good, but giving us some agency in what gear gets stronger is better.

So it’s ok to get mythic gear for content that doesnt deserve it but not ok to sometimes get heroic or normal gear from content that doesn’t deserve it?
I feel like there is always this double standard with mythic+, which is by far the main reason higher level loot gets invalidated, yet it gets a pass because dungeons.
Why not cap it at 400 or put the weekly 410 (and high residium to buy 415 azerite) at +15 or higher?
The weekly is just too good.
Take 5 raider, they go and do 1 +10 dungeon for the week. Takes 1 hour.
That run yields:
-
3 items for 5 people if they get in time. 2 items for 5 people if not. Both ratios way better than a raid boss.
-
Everyone gets a guaranteed item in their cache.
-
Everyone gets~33% of enough residium to buy a random 415 azerite in a targeted slot.
So that 1 hour weekly dungeon gave 7.33 or 8.33 items for 5 people for that week.

There is more than just raiders to think about though. I know for some of you, you don’t care if anyone else plays this game but your content is expensive to make, there needs to be a reason for people who don’t raid to log in as well.
At the start of this patch I thought that was the end of the game for me because the world content gear had no upgrades for me. Sure I may not need gear but I need some reason to keep logging in.
I actually think titanforging works really well for world quests. The thing that makes world quests different though is that they have guaranteed drops and you know exactly which piece of gear you’re getting. If you’re the type to target gear, you can open the map and go for your chance at an upgrade, and there are multiple chances daily. I would imagine that professions actually supplement gear at that level too. That is very much missing at higher item level. Edit: yes I get that there are a few slots you can craft high ilvl items for, but all it takes is a couple titanforges to make your profession useless for gear.
Even if they did, a lot of people enjoy being able to be done with WoW for a month or two, so they can play non-WoW games.
Just wanted to say I’m really satisfied with Titanforging/Warforging. My family and I play a lot and generally get a boost in ilvl from the fact that we do a ton of varied content, including raids, WQs, emissaries, PvP, weekly dungeon quest, Warfronts, and islands. I don’t mind the fact that Bad Luck Protection kicks in for the people who are off playing another game on non-raid days and the occasional lucky TF/WF keeps me from getting 20 ilvls above them while we’re still in the same raid difficulty together.
That extra little 4-5 ilvls and 6-7 neck levels I get from playing a lot is a nice bonus for just generally playing all of the game for the fun of it. It’s also nice to at least have a chance of getting gear when I help people out with lower content, because I don’t feel like I’m handicapping myself by not playing 100% optimally.
