What are you talking about, Unless you mean apocalypse there is no such skills. And that is ghouls not skeletons. And to get the skeletal mage you have to give up the gargoyle and the abomination you mentioned before doesn’t exist anymore. Have you even tried the class after pre-patch?
you act like you can have this out all at once, reality is most of it is on cooldowns. Long ones at that.
I was referring to Apocalyplse. and my bad, you literally have so many undead summoning abilities it’s hard for outsiders to differentiate. But you still think it isn’t a necromancer.
Apocalypse is a short cooldown and used as frequently as possible.
Maybe before calling it a necromancer you should play it. Those minions your talking about most the time are not even out. They are on cooldown, most the time you got one ghoul out and get to dark transform it. Apocolypse is great but it has a 2minute CD. Which isn’t great. and Army of the dead is 10. You can get a gargoyle but then your death coil no longer reduces those insane cooldowns plus you lose the skeleton mage. So really we only have 2 minion types.
How many more edgelord classes will we have to get… first DKs,Then DHs and then we have this wave of people that fit Necromancy in that will no doubt take away from Death Knights and Warlocks(demonology) when the idea of Tinker attacks none of that, gives us a new mail class, gives us a new class that can use ranged weapons. Robs from no exisitng class.
That shorter cooldown comes at the cost of the gargoyle you mentioned. Either way your still stuck with just 2 minion types. Ghouls and skeletons, or Ghouls and Gargoyle.
Again play the class, before you say such silly things. If you are not using festering strike and scourge strike or the talented ability it changes into. Your damage is greatly hampered. Your damage is strongly dependant on your melee skills. A necromancer would have abilities that commands those undead to perform abilities. Similar to hunters beast mastery with kill command and such.
“Tinkerer” is a brilliant class idea and all of your points make it obvious why it would be a desirable choice over other classes.
Here is how I would implement them if I had to:
Specialisation 1: Tank (uses a mech)
Specialisation 2: Damage (ranged attacks using guns, gadgets, turrets, etc.)
Specialisation 3: Healer (uses a similar system to totems that heal nearby players like the dispenser from TF2)
The point is, they could be a unique and fun class to play!
Not all at once no, you have to choose which ones. You get 1 or 2 at most and half the time one of them is on cooldown. The ability to summon undead isnt enough to be a necromancer class on its own. The ability to summon multiple at once is needed and the ability to command those minions. Neither of which is available. You can try to trap with yes or no questions but that simply isn’t enough.
I am 100% sure healer will just showcase Goblin Alchemist hero unit and heal through vials and concoctions. it will be a class purely based on Science.
First, Apocolypse is 1.5 minutes, which already better than most class’ dps cooldowns. For example, in order for Enhancement to get that low of a cd on Feral Spirits, you have to take a talent for it, and that’s a much more underwhelming cooldown than Apocolypse.
Second, the point is that all of the hypothetical necromancer abilities that people propose are already on Death Knight in some capacity.
It doesn’t matter that WoW doesn’t have the archetypal necromancer, as it has a highly stylized necromancer. WoW is a highly stylized game, and doesn’t have to copy the standard fare you’d see in most fantasy.
What does a necromancer do besides summon the undead?
