Tinkers have been a class in lore for ages. Way back to the RTS days. They just aren’t playable.
Bards and bard-like magic on the other hand have never been a thing in WoW lore.

I’m not really uptight whether such and such class is in lore. I just know it’s one that people a keep asking for. All I care about is “Can it Dwarf?”
What makes you think it’s going to be a cleric? what functional difference will cleric have over priests or paladins?

Of course it can dwarf. Dwarves are one of the Alliance’s most technologically savvy races.

I suggest dragonsworn!
Mortals who have been chosen to be champions of the dragonflights. Needed now more than ever that dragons cannot reproduce. Mortals need to be indoctrinated in their ways so when the last dragon passes the duties of the flights can still be carried on.
Black is already functionally extinct. We need earthwarders!
Bronze should be heals. Using time to absorb, mitigate, and rewind damage. This is a unique theme to healing we haven’t seen before.
Red should be ranged dps. Burning enemies with the power of dragonflame. (I know “lifebinder” seems more like healing but healing with fire might be confusing).
Black should be tank, using the power of the earth to protect yourself.
Blue should be melee dps. Turning magic inward and enchanting your physical attack with arcane and frost. (basically melee mage).
I didn’t include green because that’s basically druids as is. Though green could replace red as ranged dps and use poison and nature damage.
They would be a hybrid class wearing mail armor can equip, staff, spears, swords, swords, and axes.
why not, dwarves invented tanks and WoW’s guns.

Weird you must be psychic in knowing exactly how the class will play even though it isn’t even a class let alone anything in the works for one. I bet you want a Necromancer which is worse since a DK/Warlock do the same things as one.

Actually no I’m against necromancer as well.
Tinkers are engineers. They even had their own piloted mech suit in Legion. It may have sucked, but it still counted. Plus bombs and grenades. They should give engineers some more tinkerish stuff, but a whole class would be redundant.

Necromancer I could see being a thing. Its popular, very thematic to Warcraft
The problem of course being its design space is squeezed right between Warlock and Death Knight and lemme tell you, as a Warlock player we’re a little tired of new classes stealing our stuff, Demon Hunters.
Theoretically necromancer could be…
Lots of brittle skeletons ala Demonology, in that you summon many skeletons
Blood-based healer which, look, isn’t necromancer specific but where else as we gonna get our blood healer? Plus tying that into healing splits them off as that’s something Warlocks cannot do at all, and booooy are people not going to be happy with another 3 DPS spec caster in this day and age
Some sort of withering or something like that with debuff-focused stuff?
I have not put as much thought into necromancer as Tinker, but there’s space there for it. Its just you need to really specialise in that space due to warlocks and DKs
Wanting that playstyle and idea to be decent and playable isn’t possible while engineering is a profession. There’s design space there for a dedicated class who uses that fantasy, its just it can never be explored as long as all that is given just to engineering as it’ll be just gimmicky stuff there and not how to actually deal damage or heal
None of this is relevant content. Therefore it isn’t a relevant arguement.
Also every Engineer grenade is a shared 5 minute cooldown.
