Tinker class imminent, it practically exists already for NPCs now

Draenei have turrets and shields for their cities, mech suits to include warframes and soulframes, and interstellar travel with space ships. Why in the world would you exclude them from tech-based class?

They’re following the D&D tradition of constantly leaving Artificer out of the base game.

Open up the Tinker class for all races who have engineering profession. Draenei, Lightforged, Orcs, Mag’har, Dwarves, Dark Irons, Earthen, Undead, Nightborne, Blood Elves, Humans, Vulpera, and etc for the Engineer class.

Yes, funny how 12 years of being wrong works - you are eventually right if you keep at it enough.

I have very little empathy for the dude for how vitriolic he was to people who logically and rationally discussed with him that we would get the demon hunter as a class.

That’s an Artificer, not a Tinker.
A Tinker only needs a handful of scrap metal, an ear of corn and a rubber band to create a neutron bomb.
Draenei Artificers use magic/energy storing crystals to create items. They’re closer to Jewelcrafters then Tinkers, which is why they get a jewelcrafting buff.

Kul Tiran and Dwarf Tinkers would absolutely nail this mog cosplay too lmao

I think Tinker is still just the best over-encompassing class name personally.
Like how Tauren Paladins are Sunwalkers, Zandalari are Prelates, Belves are Blood Knights, etc. Paladin is just the broad label.

Similarly, despite Gnomes/Mechagnomes/Goblins all being athiestic and not really subscribing to the religious concept of “The Light”, their lore is that they’re just field medics & The Light is simply a consequence of having to share that gameplay with other races that do follow The Light.

So yeah, we’ve got Orc/Mag’har Mechanics, Dwarf/Human/Dark Iron Engineers, Undead Apothecaries, Draenei/Blood Elf/Nightborne Artificiers, Gnome/Mechagnome/Goblin Tinkers, Vulperan Scrappers, and Earthen Machinespeakers- but “Tinker” just gets the point across

I just hope it’s a full on mech suit class instead of a mech being a CD

We have the potion animation from delves for their healing spec XD

I could see last titan. Mid-expansion though? I doubt it. Doing a single evoker spec mid expansion broke the meta for nearly a year. Doing that times 2-3 would be insane.

And? It’s still technology.

Any tech class would ideally allow the player to choose which race’s technology they want to use. Instead of the character model customization like DHs and Evokers got, have the tech be customizable. Like druids having 1000 different forms.

I’d like to see a Tinker class. I think the idea keeps growing on me.

But if we didn’t get a new Tinker class, I could also see it maybe being a Rogue spec that allows for support/healing… though that sounds odd when I’m writing it out.

They find a way to say it about every expansion. Somehow it’s always the perfect time for tinkers and yet they never happen.

You’d think after a certain number of years, people would figure out the pattern.

tbf, this is basically what Sawbones Scoundrels and Medic Operatives are in SWTOR, specs that blend technological medicine with stealth. When you think about it, a healer that can sneak their way into trouble spots and distract people with CC if they draw aggro is a useful asset.

The fact that people have wanted it for so long is why it will happen eventually. Every class has been a long requested one except evokers… But even then, there were old “dragonborn” class requests back in the day. And honestly, evoker was kind of a flop until augment came out and was OP for a year straight.

Next class they’ll add will definitely be a requested one and tinker is at the top of that list as far as I’m aware. Maybe Necromancer has more requests, but the overlap between it and DK/Warlock is probably too big for it to make it.

I could see a Spellbreaker/Spellblade type class in Midnight with the elf themes. I would prefer a tech class though.

Yeah I had that idea myself. Spellbreaker as a tank spec, spellblade as a melee dps… idk the third spec. Maybe the dps specs are split between a fast sustain vs slow crit class like warrior is?

Issue is it kind of starts to feel like an arcane recolor of paladin… so idk.

Would probably have more overlap with shamans tbh with the frost and fire parts. Melee support would probably be the 3rd spec for it.

Would very much prefer tech though and that also fits in with the elves since both Nightborne and blood elves got a good amount of stuff. They lack mech suits though.

I would see tinkers coming in TLT. Ulduar had plenty of robots and stuff and we’re going back there.

It took 20 years for player housing. Twenty Years.

All we can say for certain is that player feedback is heard, but takes forever to implement. It’s honestly in their best interest to just satiate us so we shut up and they can focus on newer ideas… but even then… Evoker was very lame. So many newer ideas aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. What better time than now with all the machines everywhere to go back to the drawing board for a class that fits the theming of this entire Worldsoul Saga and isn’t a “risky” move like Dracvoker was?

WE WANT TINKERS! WE WANT TINKERS! WE WANT TINKERS!

With racial themed tinker assets… Please god… imagine how glorious the class would be if they went all in.
