i want tinkers too OP. i would’nt be as hyped for them as other people, but at this point with this many mechs ‘n’ bots, i want’em.

…even if it’s mostly to see all the crazy gnome players making dr.robotnik in WoW, and have them actually be a class that makes sense for’im. :rofl:

This thread makes me recall the fellow on the MMO-Champion forum who has been swearing on his life we’d get this class since like, MoP.

At this point every conceivable Warcraft/Fantasy archetype I enjoy is in the game, so if this is what people want, I hope they add it.

Yeah I thought the same when they had shadowlands but with a necromancer spec or class. That didn’t pan out :frowning:

I mean… we ARE going to Undermine, with the Tinker Union residing there, I wonder how they’ll narratively cover that.

In the announcement footage there’s a goblin robot that’s CLEARLY modeled after the Goblin Tinkers robot factory spell (13:54), could just be a callback.

I just think its crazy this game has been out this long and still doesn’t have a tech/mech archtype class. When usually its in the base game of almost every RPG.

I am all for adding a tech/magic ranged class like Artificer or Engineer but could we please call it something other than “Tinker?”

I hope so! I liked my engineer back when I played GW2 (vanilla, no idea what the games like now).

A flamethrower! Ranged bomb and flask throwing! Turrets! A robotic tank pet you can customize!

There’s so much that could be done. Bonus: starts out as a gobbie/gnome only class because yes. :grin:

I think it would be cool but they’ve never added a class mid-expansion before. They did add a spec mid expansion in DF though so maybe.

They also have probably been trying to think of ways to do something about the loss of players during the first season of every expansion. Many of whom don’t come back until the next expansion. A new class mid-expansion would probably be one way to get people back.

Yeah, that guy predicted we’d be going to undermine in 11.1 because of Gazlowe’s presence in Azj Khenet, and that entire forum laughed at him, saying we’re going to the Rootlands instead.

Tinker is what the class was Hero unit was called in WC3 but honestly I’m open to:

Inventor, Artificier, Mechanic, Machinist, Demolitionist, Machinespeaker (if they go the azerite magic machinery route), Scrapper. All titles used in game already so they still “fit”

I only want tinker on the condition that they get an entire spec tree devoted to a Mech Suite build.

Now a days, ‘tinker’ or ‘artificer’ just boils down to a turret jockey in goggles and the whole turret spam class thing has been done to death already in countless games or they just end up being a walmart brand hunter with some gimmicky gadgets tacked on.

Go full Gundam or don’t bother, Blizz. I want to go stomping around in a giant metal murder bot firing off arm cannons and rocket pods.

Before he got banned he said if they’re going to do a Tinker class, it’d be in 11.1.5. So we’ll just have to wait and see.
