Timewalking Mythic Plus

If you were given the option to run timewalking mythic+ would you be interested? We’re talking the full array of dungeons from previous expansions with highly sought after rewards from those expansions. These would be character specific rewards, so you would need to complete them on multiple characters for some of the rewards.

A few examples:
Completing every mythic+ from Legion at a 15 or higher (or whatever the point tally is currently, 2000) you would earn the mythic tier or elite pvp set recolor.

Completing every mythic+ from MoP at a 15 or higher (or whatever the point tally is currently, 2000) you would earn a new color of the Challenge Mode set.

Getting into the older expansions like Cata, WoD, TBC we could take past mythic tier / rated pvp elite sets recolor them and offer them as a reward for completion of the similar mythic scores above.

I think adding in an account-wide achievement wouldn’t be a bad option either. Possibly a mount from each of the expansions recolored and rewarded for completing all 18s or something.

This would also bring timewalking mythic plus gear into the loot tables for retail. Their item level could never top a vault reward or the current mythic raid tier but still be upgradable with Valor to the max of the current season. Not only does this break up the monotonous grind per season of the standard array of dungeons but gives mythic plus players a wider options of play.

I also think adding in completing a 20 for one of the timewalking mythic dungeons would reward you with a teleport to the dungeon entrance.

Thoughts? Would you play this?

Or at the every least make the mythic dungeon weekly scale previous dungeons to 60 so people can experience them

I could see doing all the dungeons from the last 3 x-packs…

But trying to make any before that fit M+ design would be horrible. They were not originally designed for that type of gameplay, and would be painful to rush…not to mention dealing with affixes

Subtle “bring back mage tower” but no you’re not getting this back

Same goes for challenge mode armor

You can get the one from legion class hall recolor sets but you don’t get that back if you missed out

I can see the hesitancy of people not wanting their uniqueness to be taken from them, however it’s not as if these would be any easier than Mage Tower or the MoP/WoD CMs. I got the CM set for priest and warlock. I missed out on Mage Tower due to just not playing in Legion. If it was another offered mythic set or elite skin coloration would you still be against the options?

I’m not 100% locked in on the Mage Tower or CMs it was just a thought as people have requested it several times.

I’m perfectly fine changing up the reward to an elite set / mythic set recolor from that expansion. Even a recolor of the CMs wouldn’t be to farfetched as that’s basically what happened in Legion.

You count on completing mythic+ dungeons with the right group. The mage tower was dozens or hundreds of pulls. Not the same.

As I’ve said above I’m not really arguing hard for this, I’m fine with changing the rewards and I’ll change my original post to reflect it in a moment. However I will state currently TW is limited for a week, so it’s a short time frame every few months to get this chance.

I’d play this. I am always for expanding the game, not shrinking it.

  2. If they did timewalking it would have to be legitimate class tuning to how it was back then. No DH in mop and wod timewalking, all class abilities and masteries reverted to how they were in those expansions. It’s ridiculous to want to award class specific rewards for doing challenge content on a class that is no longer tuned for that content. Just lowering ilvl isnt enough
  3. Rewarding pvp elite sets from back when is as dumb as giving out famed slayer titles from past hall of fames. Being able to SL divine toll someone to death doesn’t mean you could have achieved 2000+ rating when divine toll didn’t exist and boosts were a lot less widespread

Imagine if we got Maw of Souls and Shadowmoon Burial Grounds as Tormented Season Specific M+ dungeons. Would have tied in thematically so well with the current patch.

Having one WoD/Legion/BFA dungeon in rotation each season would be sick.

Have SMBG, MoS and Shrine this season. Next season have UBRS, Arcway, Freehold.

I wouldn’t mind settling the score with that guy in Tol’Dagor…his guys beat me up good in BfA, regularly :frowning:

but no - i don’t think this should be a way to abolish exclusively earned Pieces from like a decade ago. New stuff plz. especially “challenge modes”.
