Timewalking in 11.0.5 Scaling Up

Yeah, I did tried that but as you said people don’t let you do that lol watched all 3 dps die was hilarious though.

Scaling the dungeon up to us is going to mean you’ll need high end raid gear to do that anyway. So now instead of needing easily-farmable legacy items to do crazy pulls, you’ll need to be geared from current content. Seems like a bad change IMO

Bruh. You can pull half the dungeon in a normal right now with barely heroic ilevel gear on. I don’t know where you get this idea that people will need to be mythic geared in order to faceroll timewalking when it scales up.

If anything, it will be easier to outgear the content since it will no longer affect your own ilevel. They’re going to scale it up to whatever they think the average starter ilevel for the content should be, which is probably like 535 for a level 80 right now.

It depends how they scale up. If they scale up to our ilvl then it doesn’t matter as they will always hit the same no matter your ilvl.
If they scale to the current season then I expect them to be the same difficulty as current heroics.

They have a habit of having things scale badly when they have to scale something up in levels. I wouldn’t be surprised if the first week of the new timewalking, mobs are one-shotting people.

You shouldn’t have to outgear it, it’s timewalking. It’s supposed to be brain-dead easy, regardless of your gear.

Isn’t this already happening in TBC timewalking.

I wasn’t suggesting you have to outgear it. I’m just saying it would be easier to. You don’t have to farm a specific period set in order to be extra faceroller, you just play in your normal stuff. If you M+ or raid or delve t8 regularly, you’ll be a god. If you’re new, you’ll still do the dungeon just fine.

Mobs are one shotting people with us scaled down right now as it is, see: Blood Furnace. Blizzard is bad at scaling, period. Being able to compensate for their terrible scaling by simply playing the game and doing some of the content–thereby acquiring gear that outpaces their blunders–will make for a more enjoyable experience than Blood Furnace is right now.

Does anyone need high end raid gear in Chromie Time dungeons?

TBC dungeon mobs have a history of having harder-hitting melees than any other expansion dungeon, with Blood Furnace being the highest of the bunch. With some OP legacy gear, you can avoid that.

Sure, but this content is meant for fresh max-level players. Even normal mobs are a challenge at that point. Telling people to gear up via M+ or T8s before doing something that should be easily doable regardless of gear feels pretty bad.

True and real. Hence why I don’t trust them to scale it up very well.

i’ve done a lot of TBC timewalking before and it was never like this one.

Gonna feel real weird deleting, disenchanting or vendoring all that old gear…can you toss the heart of azeroth into void storage?

Preface: I am not greatly affected by this change. I do current content. However I have spent years on the Timewalking discord and know there is a big community along with hundreds of hours of theory crafting, fun and effort put into people making the most of TW. People play the game for this.

I think if they kinda allow us to ‘scale up’ old gear in TW weeks this might be a good middle ground.

Idea: there is a minimum ilvl that people will be set to on their slots, anything higher will be stronger but anything weaker will be brought up.

I don’t understand the reason for changing a LONG time system that was working. is it a solution in search of a problem?

not a fan at all.
