Timers Are Bad, M'Kay?

A timer is the worst thing ever added to dungeons. Now every tank treats queued dungeon runs as practice for high keys. Mobs actually die slower when kited through the dungeon.

Timers are fine. In fact i enjoy them (when reasonable)

Its a varied game mode that breaks things up.

Dont like timers? Glad there is m0s, korthia, torghast, raid

Whats with all the addon hate today!

Edit: misread the point, now it just seems like a personal problem.

I think they were meaning M+ timers not addon timers.

Yeah, on one hand I don’t like that some players bring the Mythic + mentality to non-Mythic + activities. On the other hand, the newer dungeons are freaking lame (they are all made with the Mythic + formula in mind and as a result are uninspired and basic) so it’s nice to be able to breeze through them to complete a quest and get it over with.

i agree - i wish we could dungeon crawl, not dungeon sprint-kite.

mobs can die faster tbh BUT most pug groups can’t utilize their own utility/abilities to warrant this.

Pull big and i mean BIG, stun/cc tf out of the big group, nuke tf out of them via AoE’s, rinse and repeat. goes by fast with good groups but it all varies depending on every individuals skill set especially your healer but not excluding dps either. you get bad dps in pulls like this you just make it harder on yourself and the healer as yes they die slower.

If you don’t like how pug groups works then form your own groups. You can’t change how most others want to play and you really shouldn’t expect them to tailor their playtime to how you want to play.

As a person that plays multiple MMOs, I can say that this has nothing to do with timers.

Since rewards are tied to dungeon completion, running dungeons as fast as possible is the most efficient way to get what you want.

This applies to pretty much all MMOs at this point and is a game design problem…not a specific M+ problem and definitely is not tied to the addition of timers

timers are the worst thing added to video-games, period. hate time limits… the only good time limit, is when it does’nt matter. like uh… in pikmin 2, where there’s the time-limit for levels, but they don’t matter since you have infinite days to beat the game.

People did this before m+… you’re badly conflating things.

only if you don’t know what you are doing.

You really think they are practicing for keys and not annoyed at having to run the dungeon for the 20th time in a row and want to get it over with as fast as possible?

I don’t have an issue with timers but I’d be down to see what M+ would be like without them.

The content would have to scale aggressively more though, where each boss feels like progressing on a raid boss eventually lol

Personally I think timers should function more like bonuses. That could be a piece of bonus loot, added currency or being able to reforge keys.

The worst part about M+ hands down is the quitter attitude that comes with failing to time a key or really making any mistake. Not the actual timers themselves imo.

It’s funny how many people want to destroy M+ because they are scared of a clock that ticks down. It’s the most replayable content in the game for the majority of the playerbase comparatively to raids or arena and you want to get rid of it lol.

Both can exist

Mythic + is simple and enjoyable content.

Proof for this comment? Are there surveys done out there, about what every single WoW player has a preference for?

I’m not going to entertain this foolishness. Both you and I, along with everyone else on the forum, knows that this is a very common complaint. Anyone who runs dungeons, even every now and then, knows that the majority of groups fly through the content, why play dumb?

The fact that you get nearly the same loot from an untime key as you do a timed one, it really shouldn’t be that big a deal. Hell even an untimed key can improve your “score”.
