Not having a timer doesn’t make it freebie crap. And you don’t need a timer to stop multiple lusts, you can make big CD’s charges or add a debuff to prevent using it multiple times, etc. There are much more elegant solutions that don’t only please one subset of players while alienating the others.
I don’t care about leaderboards. I don’t enjoy the idea of m+ without a timer and I don’t find the idea of a Torghast without a timer more enjoyable.
No it won’t. It wasn’t like that before the timer and it doesn’t have to be if they take it back out. Complete nonsense and tons of people will avoid all timed content just like they do with m+.
The difficulty should come from the combat mechanics.
Not having a timer won’t make it less challenging.
It does. If that fire buff that ticks a % of your health every 5 seconds reaches a certain point you will die and get kicked out. It’s literally on a timer.
It was unfinished before the timer and it’s not finished now.
I extra don’t care how it was before they patched it in, it is not representative of a finished product.
Then you get the response most of us that don’t want timers have been getting.
‘Don’t play it then’.
It was not planned with a timer from the outset, they specifically said it wouldn’t have one. Now because they saw people waiting for lust it’s there. It’s there because of lust, not to make people like you who want more M+ happy.
GOOD! We want challenging content without a timer, that is what the players asked for when the idea of this tower came about. If they put the timer in , they failed to deliver it.
They said they don’t want this content to be timed and don’t like this solution but feel like they need something to counter waiting for cooldowns. Limited uses per floor would solve these issues.
How early was the Vitality idea? Wasn’t the sanity mechanic part of the original?
And that’s great for you. I’m not asking to remove timers from M+ or Visions or Islands or anything else. I’m aaking them to deliver this solo, infinetly explorable, always changing content without timers for a change.
Sounds fine. Can’t please everyone.
Way to avoid everything I said and try to make a different point.
I mean, I still have yet to see a hard timer actually pointed out. I’m just seeing ramping difficulty on the floors above the community-accessible floors. I don’t see anything wrong with this. People on Alpha were able to literally steamroll up through rather high floors past a certain point. It’s alpha.
Okay? Blizzard’s going to develop the difficulty as they see fit, and you calling it a timer doesn’t make it an actual timer. The point is for floors to be clearable in relatively short periods. Yeah, you can sit and keep clearing and reclearing if you want, but Blizzard doesn’t want a repeat of horrific visions where you can spend inordinate amounts of time clearing.
Everything isn’t about Hero/Lust. I’m certainly not talking about it, so you can stop talking to me about it.
It doesn’t have a timer.
Yep. Guess you’d better clear it before the Jailor ramps up enough pressure on you to kick you out of his own domain.
It’s ramping difficulty to encourage you to not dawdle. So don’t dawdle.
You people are jumping the gun on a system that literally just got pushed out. They’ve openly stated they’re getting Torghast content out as quickly as possible to get it tested and get feedback. Do you want them to not push out Torghast until two months before release and then tell you “this is how it is gonna be, don’t bother talking to us”?
Like, I’m not following the point of this. “ree timer bad” is not an argument, particularly when there’s no actual timer in place for how long you can remain in the instance.
It was literally added because people were waiting for cooldowns. I know that doesn’t fit your M+ timer loving narrative but if you want to take the opposing position at least stop misrepresenting.
Only when i am in the rest area right ?
This is false.
Then I guess people shouldn’t wait on cooldowns due to the change in design. Too bad, so sad.
Okay, cool. I wasn’t discussing the abilities in question anyways, so… not misrepresenting anything.
And when you’re out of it. The difficulty ramps the longer you’re on the same floor, but there’s no hard timer that says “okay, you’ve been on this floor 20 minutes, time for you to step out and come back in”.
But that’s literally why the change is being done
