These things are probably the biggest headache in all of Classic. Most of you will disagree I’m sure, but if you’ve spent more the 3-4 Hours sitting there camping the runecloth bag pattern to have it sniped right out from under you from a random that just runs up on the Vendor suuuucks. Then later on in the day you check the AH and that person has it listed for 50+ gold or More. Is just a headache. If any type of QoL change can be made. I would suggest doing no more timed patterns. I play the game to play it. Not sit here and wait for a stupid NPC and a chance at a pattern.
It only took about 10-20 minutes for me to buy the Runecloth Bag during peak hours with 4-5 other people camping Qia.
Not hard when I play like it’s 2019, not 2006. Google, keyboards, code. Ezclap.

Its supposed to be rare and hard to get.
If your to slow, buy it off the ah.
If you want to stand for 5 hours on the slim off chance that you’ll snipe it first before the other ten people THATS ON YOU.
Just go farm essence of water for an hour and you’ll have the gold to buy it off ah, its not a headache if you use your head.

Where does it say that you have to have the runecloth bag pattern? It’s timed for a reason… so not everyone can have it.

An actual issue Blizzard needs to fix is the limited capacity of the ignore list. 50-51 slots for servers that can now hold thousands upon thousands of players can’t be considered anything but a joke.
No, addons are only a workaround. And no, some players are too far gone to NOT be on an ignore list.

Where possible, set yourself to “At War” with said vendor’s faction, and proceed to chain CC the NPC.

Agreed.
The whole “everyone deserves to have everything, you’re all winners!” attitude is what makes retail so bland and boring imo.
I like how in classic not everyone is a God who gets everything handed to them on a silver platter, the world is harsh, unfair and unforgiving, there is no appealing to anyone’s sense of entitlement, if you want something you need to work harder or smarter.

I was reading about this issue on Reddit, and although the OP worded it poorly here, it does seem to be a genuine problem on some realms. Apparently there are bots that are scripted to bombard the vendor with a script as soon as it is listed, meaning there’s no possible human way to buy the pattern.
That is against the TOS, so I’d suggest if this is the problem you seem to be facing, report the character to Blizzard.
If someone is using a bot to 100% control the market of a limited item, it’s a genuine complaint.
