From IOC map to Ashran, the alliance is suffering from poor balance design of the map.
IOC:
Glaive not so useful, damage not enough, health too low.
Ashran:
Mage knockback
15% buff on the horde side
Update:
IOC: hangar is closer to us… I guess I was wrong about this map.

So what’s stopping alliance from taking Hanger ?

Hanger is closer to the horde side. It’s hard for alliance to win hangar if both team run to it. Nerf glaive == nerf alliance.
Trust me the advantage is countered by the average skill level of horde pugs

That’s actually not true, Alliance can reach Hangar slightly faster than the Horde.

I do believe hangar flag is closer to horde.
It is closer yes … but horde are slowed climbing the hill so it allows alliance to get to the flag first.

We also need to climb the hill…
Horde has a steeper and slower climb …I have played many IOC on both sides . Alliance get to hangar first .

I only queue epic BGs as alliance because I cant stand sitting around for 15 minutes waiting to get in, and you can see the results from my statistics… 13 ashran played 2 wins, 15 ioc played 5 wins. Okay I might be bad, but I’m pretty sure I’m not so bad that I actually cause my teams to lose in 40 mans
Even if Hangar was closer to the Horde side, the Alliance have the high ground advantage.
It makes a difference.

Visually it looks closer to the Horde, but we always arrive first. The path they take is longer than ours.
We have a tendency to squander that advantage, though.

lol sorry to hear that. good luck on your next game.
Alliance definitely get to the flag a tad bit before Horde do.

The answer is so easy, just flip the maps every other time and its done.
Other than that the flower buffs should appear throughout all of ashran and the knockback turned into a stun.
I think alliance loses almost every epic battleground and I don’t think it’s because of map imbalance

Troll, Horde had to adapt to Alliance getting glaives so fast we couldn’t even fight for it!

The flag at hangar doesn’t matter. When horde get there, all the alliance are already posted up holding high ground. Alliance get there quicker than horde.
Imo IOC is pretty balanced, as is AV. Alterac valley feels better than it has in a very long time.
Ashran needs some help. Mages need to be balanced imo, and either nerf down the benefit from flowers and/or move them to a slightly more central location. Also, they need to change the resources system there so that either team has a more realistic chance to fight/defeat the enemy boss.

nah, glaives are probably in their best position than they have been in a while, they have enough health that a single rogue/druid cant kill them in a single GCD like in BFA, and if they are being protected they can survive long enough to do damage.
And they positively MELT the gate…if you dont defend against them.
When the BG was “hangar or lose” alliance pretty routinely could get to the flag, and spin the flag, before the horde made it up the hill.
