Normie here. I agree with this lmao
Timers serve no purpose but to hardcore players as a mechanic. Timers punish the non-competitive players.
So as I said, the win/win is to make the hardcore end of the content have timers and the casual bottom tiers have none.
After 15 keys put a timer on. Itās a win/win.
There is no denying some people would do it, and itās part of the reason some people donāt do it, because in the first handful of cloak levels you MUST go straight and kill the boss or risk trying to take one side zone and possibly leave with nothing.
Iām done with these nonsensical arguments. Tried to come up with an alternative pitch for the I-Hate-Timers crowd, and they didnāt engage with it at all ā for a full week.
I literally got more input and constructive criticism from people who enjoy the timed model of M+ than I did from anyone in this thread (and itās the same group of people) who claims to want content without time constraints.
Stay the hell away from Mythic+. Itās fine the way it is. Go find another game to play if you want something else.
But you donāt need to do a 15 in time to get the same reward.
Umā¦ up until rank 5, you only need to kill the boss, after that you clear the areas without needing to ever kill the boss again.
No actually itās more about changing the mindset about timers so we can open up more content to more players and allow a chance to everyone from the casual solo player to the hardcore players to do it all.
You miss the point, some people donāt like to be told āThis is what you must do or elseā, they donāt want to spend time farming a currency in a zone they are forced into only to join an instance and than be forced to go straight to the boss or get nothing out of it.
You could literally spend a week in Uldum and Vale and if you fail to kill the boss because you wanted to look around and do what Blizzard want us to do and experience the content, than you could walk out with nothing.
Timers are a type of difficulty thatās mainly it. They would have to find a way to make content way more difficult if it didnāt have timer for the high rewards you get from timed content.
What do you mean walk out with nothing? You can start a horific vision, afk at the start until your sanity drains, and still get 50 Corrupted Momentos from the chest at the end.
Imagine wanting rewards for not completing objectives.
Go play Minecraft.
You donāt have to time keys for a chance to upgrade your gear.
So much this, you can spend 2 or 3 hours in a 15+ if you want, you will still get a 475 piece at the end of the week.
If it was strictly single-player content, sure. But this is WoW, where the community has managed to make a bunch of level 20s palling around in Deadmines into āgo go goā. Thereās absolutely 0 chance of any group content not degenerating into āhow can we reach the objective and leave in the fastest time?ā.
Classic is probably a good example of this, no ātimersā but they are still aiming to get things done in a speedy fashion.
But how do you get to a +15 key in the first place? You also end up with a +14 key, than a +13 key until you end up at the point where there is no point running the content because you are no longer getting upgrades.
And this is also when there where bonus objectives to complete which gave more chances at loot.
Iām a tank, a guildie asks me to tank it, how they got it is none of my concern.
You do know Iām talking about them speed clearing dungeons and raids, right?
Well the issue is besides Horrific Visions, you donāt need to beat timers on much anything else. You donāt have to complete a M+ dungeon in time to get the gear at the end of the dungeon you just get more of it. Sure the key is downgraded, but the point of high end content like M+ is to make a challenge and add leaderboards, because players like that kind of stuff.
Also, raids need to be at least ~10 man because a raid with 5 people is honestly just a dungeon.
All these things youāre asking for is indicative of a perfect single-player game experience. There are a literal ton of video games that you can play that fulfill your desire, but WoW has always been a multiplayer experience. Raids have always had enrages (usually). People have always looked for the fastest route/skips even before timers in dungeons.
There are features that is designed for everyone to do, like Warfront and Island, go do those and bump their participation stats and maybe Blizz will bring it to Shadowland.
What youāre doing here is hijacking a popular feature and tried to turn it into accesible mode.
I was just checking a video out of it finally. They are breaking pots in there like Zelda. Zelda 101 break pots get loots. We should be having puzzles in there too.
Well yes, some people are in a rush for sure. Not all players though, I have done enough achievement runs with players. Of course itās nice to get the reward for the achievements, but a lot of the fun is taking the time to do the zany mechanics. Pretty sure a lot of people have participated in those. To say the audience doesnāt exist for those wanting to take time out or do something out of the ordinary would be an understatement.
Well actually I posted about M+, raiding, solo and RP content, but people get so hyped up about āMAH TIMERSā that this is all they argue about.
