Let me start by saying I am a disc priest. I do off-spec holy for some fights. My guild has been fortunate enough to make a few Val’anyr. I am next or trying to be. I am 18 Frags in. And getting anyone to go back into Ulduar is just impossible. The short version is no one cares. So here we are week 5. Heroic Trauma is an option. We are not yet ready for Heroic LK, but if I was a different class and a different time I’m pretty sure I would know the answer. However, is Val’anyr worth completing? I am starting to feel at this point in the expansion it may not be. Looking for feedback from Disc priests or those that understand the procs.
Again. I’m Disc, I do use Holy but maybe 3-4 out of 12 ICC.
If I had no fragments I wouldn’t bother, but I have 18.

Is it worth killing myself to harrass my guildmates to help me get it?
Might be time to let it go, I do not know how beneficial it will be to my raid and my progession as a raid healer. Too much contradictory info out there. I am leaning no. 60/40. Help me decide.
Unsure why people struggle with making decisions in a video game … but, the answer is simple. Save up some gold and join a GDKP with the some intent of purchasing the fragments.
Or … if you’re not using the save with your guild, join a pug and pray to the /roll gods for favor.

I hope you’re joking. Fragments in Ulduar go for like 30k each. How exactly does one “save up” 360k gold? The only players who have that much are entrenched organizers of top GDKPs, and their close friends.
Dont know about holypriest but for a disc priest any 740sp+socket weapon probably already outvalues valanyr.
the procc from it on disc priest is only 1-4% of healing done max.
I am sure Trauma is a better pick but since you are so close to valanyr you might aswell get it just not for your raid progression but yourself later on
Thanks for the reply. I think. But no, I’ll indulge most suggestions, but not GDKP and six figure worth of gold. No item in the history of items is worth that. To each their own, but from my original post this wasn’t an option. Val’anyr through guild runs or not are my options.
just put together a SR run and HR the frags…dont ask for crazy GS (remember we were like 4-4600 going into ulduar)and you should have no prob filling so people can gear out their alts. put a discord together and people would prob come back week after week especially if successful
Got 26 fragments in my bags and they will probably be there in cataclysm. At this point just scrap the idea of getting it, imo without post nerf Ulduar finding groups/organizing guild members is like pulling teeth.
