I always considered myself a good player and felt that I was a CE level player if I just spent the time to play.
This tier showed me while I was a decent player I definitely had a lot of improvement to make.
I did pretty well in CN on lock but between changing guilds they already had 3 locks so I spent this tier hopping between mage/rogue/hunter before settling on hunter.
I found that doing damage is easy. maximizing your utility while still maintaining good damage and doing mechanics is what separates good players from decent ones.
This game was built off of elitism. Thereâs always been toxic guild masters and server elite. Not a new thing.
Yes we did. There was always elitism. I give you there was a better sense of community, but thatâs because you needed to work together. Grief a run? Now nobody in that guild will run with you again if they have the choice.
People always had access to addons that would do that. What we got in 9.1.5 was an in-game system to encourage everybody to use those metrics to judge other players in the same way, including a great many players who had not been doing so previously.
Its always easier to not than to do. Are you suggesting we make doing as easy as not doing? What exactly would you change?
Every activity in life can be competitive. Every single one. And competitive people will always exist. Itâs hardwired into the dna of literally every organism on the planet.
Its so easy to move between levels that idk how people struggle to progress if they want to.
Usually the last boss or two are harder than the first couple on the next difficulty. So if someone thinks they are good at a difficulty then they can just go pug the first couple of the next level up and keep going from there. There isnt a secret to it or anything. Itâs literally just go up step by step.
If itâs so eones first time going to to heroic they are unlikely to join a quick full clear group because that group is not meant for them. Every day there are pug groups that want players.
Or they can just join a guild and make tings easier for themselves which is always a better option.
But if I show up 6 moths late and I have korthia item level (thatâs basically normal almost, but bad stats and no sockets, but ITEM LEVEL) and Iâm ready to start progressing through SoD, itâs just plain elitist not to invite me to a farm group that overgears the content and is literally just farming embers and shard set pieces.
Oh man you had me going for a bit till I saw the /s lol
Edit.
Even though you are joking it still happens in guilds too though. People get thier scuffed alts etc carried though all the time. People who donât have gear etc at this point are making the choice not to. Which I want to make 100% clear is obviously totally fine itâs thier game they can play how they want to. But. They lose the right to complain when they make the choice not to do stuff.
I really dont understand why people who post here hide their profile and activity. You do realise I can simply type your character name into Search and see everything you have contributed to, right? And also, look up your character on the armory? Its a bit of a pointless exercise, really. I donât even know why they included the option for the forum.
Why do you feel that this overused term âtoxicityâ is increased by gear score and item level? Do you believe that gear never had stats even from the beginning because, if so, I have to tell you that it did even back in Vanilla. It was a way of identifying which piece of gear was better for you, because a 20 level piece had higher primary and secondary stats than a 15 level piece. It was the gear effect of climbing a ladder; the higher you got, the better you got at being able to effectively play your character.
Saying ways of showing it should be removed makes no sense. The game itself shows you the ilevel when you look at the piece. Are you suggesting you should never be able to see any statistics relating to gear at all, even through the gameâs base UI?
I wanted to see if you had made any previous posts about gear as I was curious regarding your general opinions, and then I saw you had blocked your activity. There is no real need to do it and I was letting you know that even if you did it, others could check. Consider it a handy tip.
