I think it’s addons or bots. Anything below a certain thresh hold is instantly bought up. The scammers are posting stacks of 1 low to bait players into underpricing trade goods then buying up anything that gets posted below a set amount. Makes it very difficult to buy for anyone doing it manually.
Spent about an hour trying and got about a dozen of one item at the low prices. Anything posted at the low amount was rarely ever available with me refreshing and clicking as fast as I could. Once the price went above a certain amount I always got a chance to buy the item. The items still available were not in large stacks either. It was not just high demand for the item making it harder to buy.
It did look like there is an issue with the auction house still showing the same unavailable items after refreshing but I was clicking refresh and buy as fast as the buttons lit up.
If that were the case, this issue would have been persistent throughout Dragonflight and especially at launch (it wasn’t). I acknowledge correlation does not equal causation, so maybe it isn’t TSM. Maybe there is another problem entirely - I’m certainly willing to admit that.
There IS a problem, however, and something should be done. If a solution is not possible because it really is just average people, without the benefits of addons, buying the lowest price things the moment they post up (I still find this highly unlikely, but whatever), then maybe the solution is to make herbs far more plentiful in world or for there to be another source as convenient as the AH. I don’t know.

image link is broken for some reason, but there are 5 belts available ranging in price from 99g58s to 175g62s. times range from Long to Very Long. none can be purchased. i would be willing to bet the sellers can’t see them as active auctions either.
none of these items can be purchased. they’ve been listed for a couple of hours now. they’re all just not available. this is not a case of bots or anyone else repeatedly cancel scanning and re-listing.
there’s a much deeper problem with the AH currently.

Thanks for this post, though. If this is happening with items that are not commodities, then as you say, there is a bigger issue entirely. It might just be that the problem is most egregious with commodities since they are regional rather than confined to server group. Don’t know.
It’s happening for everything. I have some random patterns and pets on my bank alt that I was just trying to post by hand. It takes at least 10-15 seconds for the “searching” window to pull up existing items/prices, and then the “Create Auction” button is greyed out for another 30 seconds or so because it keeps telling me “You are doing that too fast”. Literally probably close to a minute between me posting the auctions, and I’m doing it “too fast”???
I’m not saying the AH does not have issues. I even mentioned the possible issue about unavailable items still showing after refreshing. I watched one item and saw what was happening. It was obvious from when items were able to be bought and when they could not. When you buy a single item you also get to see who sold it .
I wish I had left addons out of my post and just called them bots. With the botting that’s obvious in game I wonder if people have figured out how to bot the AH whether using addons or not. Maybe it’s not bots but just people that are really, really good at posting, canceling and buying all at the same time.
Yeah, I think we’ve all been burned by, or just generally sick of, exploitative behavior - especially where gold-making is concerned. It’s not surprising, therefore, when the knee-jerk reaction is to blame people/software we KNOW are engaging in such practices.

meanwhile I’m looking at literally thousands available just give me those. stop readjusting the price for the bot that keeps spamming the one herb in the lowest price slot.
TSM has been one of the most useful addons I’ve uploaded in years.
I don’t do any cancel/relist stuff, I dont bot it or whatever people say others do; its simply a tool that helps me know useful buying/selling stats as well a whole bunch of other handy stats and lets me sell things like transmog using my own TSM group setups. I provide items that people like and harm no-one. Why should I be deprived of an excellent, fun tool just because others see it as somehow wrong.
People will find far less old world or mog items being available if things like TSM werent allowed. It would diminsh the game’s level of fun.
That would effectively destroy the transmog market. Good luck finding that unique appearance if a player happens to enjoy that part of the game. Its a silly idea.
