You’re basically saying it’s your opinion that 5+5=9. That’s not an opinion, it’s simply incorrect. An opinion is chocolate cake is better than vanilla cake, but you are saying chocolate cake is a shellfish platter, which is just wrong.
There seems to be a lot of that going on.
And now you tell us you don’t know how supply and demand works…
You’re free to think… it just isn’t going to happen.
It absolutely is addons, or rather it’s the number of instances in use. If it were just ONE person using TSM, then it wouldn’t be a problem - but because you have thousands of people using TSM at the same time, it creates a situation where the script will ALWAYS be more efficient than a human. It just is.
As I suggested earlier, perhaps the solution would be to add a 10 minute cooldown to being able to repost the same item you just purchased, regardless of quantity.
I tried this last night when buying cloth and I could not. I clicked on like the middle price listing that had 1000+ cloth and tried to buy 100. The game automatically forces the lower price items into the 100 stack I’m trying to buy but since those get posted and disappear suspiciously fast then I constantly got the error about the item no longer being available.
The typical “add-on bad” crowd just making up stuff as usual to get add-ons banned cuz they allegedly need 81 add-ons to do their world quests
I have absolutely no problem with addons, except when an addon actively creates a bad user experience for people NOT using an addon.
I only returned to the game in the past year after a decade away so I’m not sure which AH items are universal or not, but right now the lowest price is 98g 45s and there’s 13 different listings of some variety of 98g with different amounts of silver. There’s a stack of 132 if I’m willing to pay 79s instead of 50-something silver.
The posting and reposting is most active on the biggest stack and the lowest priced stack (because most people are pulling from the biggest stack to relist on the lowest priced one). Just avoid those.
Maybe I’m just feeling spoiled because I’ve spent years on another game where the AH doesn’t have shared stacks like wow does, where sellers list and relist one coin lower until they’ve eroded an item’s profitability, but I can tell you when Dawntrail released that getting level XII materia off the market board was tough, because the game was full of players. That’s how launches work, at least you didn’t have to wait 10 minutes to log in.
Finally, there’s the question that’s kind of brimming in my head: Wouldn’t these addons you want gone… help you buy the thing? I know Auctionator lets you make a shopping list and then buy what’s available. Most wow players seem to throw out Blizz UX anyway.
Yes - I could do that, but I think I would feel dirty doing it, like I’m doing something furtive or unethical.
And has absolutely been explained several times by several people with several sources that it absolutely is not addons
You shouldn’t be able to run a cartel in WoW. This isn’t WoW Tycoon. lol
You have yet to answer how you know it’s the auction house addons when, for the millionth time, they’ve worked for years without DDOSing the AH.
The devs HAVE responded as to what the issue is and, guess what, it wasn’t the addons.
It was code they did on their end that wrote millions of lines onto a table that intended to only have 20-60 thousands.
Not addons.
Stop being ignorant.
No it doesn’t because it’s not the issue Blizzard is having.
Blizzard already described the technical issues in a twitter post, this wasn’t the issue.
Okay, wait. What “problem” do you think I’m talking about?
Because I am NOT talking about the degraded performance issue they recently had with the AH. Frankly, I don’t care about that at all, and if Blizz/sources say it isn’t addons causing degraded performance issue, then I believe them. That really only affects people that sit there and game the AH all day (and I’m judging you if that’s your thing).
The problem I’m talking about (which might be different than the OP) is the rapid-fire buying and reposting of crafting reagents. Again, I don’t care if people claim it’s bogging down the system or not. My gripe is that it’s creating a bad user experience because the prices are fluctuating at such a rapid rate it’s nearly impossible to buy a stack of something at the lowest prices.
Yeah but the “break the AH addons” people aren’t going to read it.
because blizzard can’t run their game properly?
Sounds like it’s time for an award for “worst take of the year” to be awared to this post.
And Wowthing.org
You shouldn’t be able to RP as a Stormwind bridge guard, this isn’t Worldofbridgeguard craft.
There’s a semi-player based economy in the game via trade channels, work orders, the AH along with carry groups and achievement sales. You should 100% be allowed to be a “cartel” if people want to form them.
