This is why I usually avoid VE/High Elf threads. Even if it’s the same face but a different color, it’s still another option to customize your character. 17 > 7. 8 > 7. Mechagnomes also have recolor options, choosing the metal.
I wouldn’t mind, but if they were going to commit to letting us customize out of the void elf aesthetic entirely, I’d rather they only do so after significantly padding blood elf customization. I don’t personally care about faction identity, but I would be pretty annoyed if my favorite race was only distinguished by a few hairstyles with no clear significance to their lore.
this topic is all over the place. the facts are this:
we have high elves at both homes (ally/horde)
velves are in denial.
everyone needs more customization, period. it shouldn’t be a contest on who needs what, wow is INCREDIBLY sad when it comes to cc in modern day and age. farm sims have more cc.
I like that Blizz is occasionally dropping new customization, but it’s a drip feed pace for sure. In retrospect it took way too long to get night elf body tattoos, and we’re still sorely lacking in the basics. I get Teldrassil was a huge and recent piece of lore, but every single race in the game either has a significant event in their history or just, y’know, the entirety of the game up to this point, where they’d have time to collect a few scars.
And cog tattoos for gnomes? Naaru symbols for draenei? There are so many ways for Blizzard to get creative but they seem to have a very arbitrary standard of what race gets what. And all this without even touching on the fact that hair styles are still lacking something fierce.
true. it is another customization. the way mechas win that is they have unique options that are different. for example, modifications to the head. modifications to the arms and legs. they essentially only have 3 skin colors. and about as many hairstyles as void elves. they need more though because its still a far cry from 6 trillion nelf options or 200 quadrillion drac options. that people with so many options are fussing at void elves, is weird. we nearly bottom of the list we dont have any unique customs. we have less than half the hairstyles of our horde equivalent and less than that of nelfs and humans, nvm dracs
non elven race gets something
“now that’s out of the way, can we give blood/void elves X?”
blood elves get something
“I think you owe void elves X”
void elves get something
“that’s nice, but can we also get X?”
a dev farts in the woods
“I think this is the perfect chance to give elves X”
a thread where a less popular race and/or race with 4 options asks for a bit more customisation
“this is a ready good idea! While they’re at it they could also add X”
after being chastised for making a request in another races thread
“wow rude. I just think that because elves are 90% of the playerbase, giving us more customisation goes further!”
while unsubbing
“Blizzard was too busy doing (opinion with no factual backing) and not enough time giving us more customisation (for elves)”
No, I completely understand. What you’re purposely ignoring is that it’s still more choices, hence more options. They did the same with Mechagnomes. You have repeated arms and feet but different colors to choose from (3 each).
8 still greater than 7, even if you want to discount your choices. Anyway, this is going nowhere. Back to work. Have a good one.
would you like tats for your kultiran? blood elves and void elves would too. we arent stupid. we see dracthyr have more options than all the other races combined and we think…hey they need to focus some of that to alliance allied races and furries
It is not a new choice though.
There are 8 faces to choose from.
If you pick face 1 or face 9, you have the same face. The difference is purely what skin tone you get to use.
So its not a different face option. Its the same face.
Listing the same thing twice, does not mean you have 2 things. You have 1 thing and a poorly designed interface.
And yes 8 is higher than 7.
Its literally a difference of 1 face but yes, 7 is the lower number.
But im not arguing against mechagnomes needing more options. They do need more options. They dont hold a candle to regular gnomes.
I think kul tirans are the most in need of new options, followed by mechagnomes.
