Ok… so streamers already cleared end game content, made all the fuss needed for TBC, whatever…
Now you(Blizzard) can give us fresh servers.
That’s all, gibe fresh!

YES to FRESH 100%
NO boost/transfers.
GOLD buyers/seller Permanent ban
There is already a long, long, long thread about this… and no one is supplying solid reasoning on why blizzard would make fresh servers. I’m not against fresh servers for the people that want it… but they have no incentive, to make a server that will more than likely be a low pop server.
you fresh server ppl are literally asking for another version of classic, it’s not happening, save your keystrokes, blizzard barely wants this classic
The fresh cult needs to stop this silliness
F R E S H
I think they’re quite pleased they’re finding ways to squeeze every nickel and dime out of this version.
They’ll do it once TBC hype dies down, just in time for another quarterly report. Probably Q3.
Fresh servers with boosts!!!
Here I was hoping this was a Subway commercial, not another rant for fresh servers that will be stale within weeks
Fresh.
Now with FRESH meta knowledge.
Expect more mage boosts.
Expect more dps warriors.
Expect World buffs from day 1.
Wow, sounds appealing…
It’s not a big deal for them to make a new server. Initial cost to them would probably be a couple hours for maybe 2 employees. Not much risk at all. Over time the cost would just be in the mix with the other servers. Currently 41 servers for BC in North America. There is a good chance they would do a PVP and PVE server, so 1 or 2 new servers. The cost to run 43 vs 41 servers is minimal if you put it into perspective. Keep in mind. they still have classic-era. They pretty much doubled the number of servers they are running. classic-era servers are pretty much empty at this time…
So the counter-argument about a new server being low population is invalid in this case. It doesn’t matter, and it is unknown so it’s not worth it to speculate. All in all I think the benefits outweigh the pocket-change risks.
Incentive? Increased player retention and possibly attracting more new players who missed out on the initial classic release a couple years ago. Another incentive, the streamers or bloggers or the people on the forums or whatever can say that Blizzard is starting to listen to the fans… (Blizzard listening to the community is currently a point of contention in the media-sphere of the intarwebs, so they could spin it as good P.R. Everybody wins.)
Either way… A fresh BC server would likely be more active population than all of the current classic-era servers put together (all 41 of them in N.A.)… Heck. While we are at it, put a fresh classic-era server. I bet it would end up being the highest population server over on classic-era at this time.
Also, Aion classic is coming out in about a week… Those looking for a fresh start might in an MMO just try that instead. It would be best to do the fresh servers before that.
Increased player retention? I’m pretty sure the retention of players would bring in less than the cost of running/maintaining those server… plus no boosts on that server? So they can’t make money off these servers that way… and you can say it’s not worth it to speculate, yet your whole next paragraph about incentive, is purely speculation. You really believe Aion is going to compete? Lol. Fresh servers ain’t happening and I feel bad for some of the players…
Whether or not a server is going to bring in revenue hasn’t really been of their decision process in the past. Usually they don’t make money off new servers. The game and the players as a whole is what matters. Whether or not they allow boosts on a new server, I really don’t care. The reason I would like this is not because I want to get away from boosted players, or because of the economy or drama like some other peoples’ reasons.
I just haven’t yet played the classic re-release of either WoW (Played back when it was retail years ago though) but I am considering it, so a new server would naturally be a preference. I think the current population (a good majority of the servers constantly either high or full population) would make it where a new server would at least have a decent population. Probably not going to be full but I doubt it would be empty at all.
Any new, F R E S H server will be as fresh as Axe body spray within a month.
That F R E S H feeling will not last.
Well yeah. That’s inevitable and would apply to a lot of things in life. Not everyone plays for the same reasons.
i’m not losing my progress because you fell behind and are not getting that big participation trophy.
Jaysus, Mary, and Joseph.
Blizzard, please give these mooks a new server to shut them up.
I mean they could do things to fix those issues now that the # nochanges mob is mostly gone.
Right…the same blizz that released S2 gear and is letting streamers keep it.
