Time for a new hero again. Need some advice please. (PvP hero)

Leveled up my Warlock and I don’t like it plus it seems no one wants locks in the group for some reason despite decent gear.

So I want a good “meta” class that isn’t squishy as heck, has self sustain, is useful in all possible areas. A class so good, dare I say it, they can carry / boost if they wanted to. I want to be able to do Tor’gag layer 8 and laugh as mobs can’t kill me. I want to be able to pull swarms of enemies and never die. I want to feel ALLLIIIIIIIIIIIIVE and not like a useless sack of cloth throwing out DoTs being ignored despite pulling more DPS than people more geared than I am.

So what classes does that leave me with?

Any class with a tank spec?

Kind of what I was thinking.

Druid. Feral and resto are fun. Guardian and Balance are ridiculous. You don’t need a lot of gear to do well with resto or balance and you have a unique toolkit with stealth, knockbacks, silences, roots, stuns, and one of the best CCs in the game with cyclone and strong mobility.

What I was thinking too. Might level up a nice Gnome Druid…oh wait…not a thing yet. A nice Goblin Druid…oh wait…

In all seriousness though I was heavily debating that myself. Tauren druid easily pick herbs, flap around (not in Shadowlands -glares at Blizzard- ) as a crow looking bird, be a pretty kitty, do some moonfare and sprinkles leaves on dying people and make them feel better.

Paladin is also very strong across its specs, but not nearly as fun imo. You can likey get farther with paladin as its skill floor is much lower and relatively easy to play. Holy also has a very valuable toolkit for the current burst meta. Druid has a high skill cap, and gives you a lot of agency for outplaying opponents though if that’s your thing.

You suggestin’ I be a simple dwarf? -shakes fist- :stuck_out_tongue:

Enhance or Ele, op burst, good sustain, a lot of healing and a pocket tank aka earth elemental.

I mained Shaman since BC but I do miss them and thought about branching out too at the same time.

a ret pal.

Kind of feels like your criteria are not very related lol

  1. PvP meta = Ret, WW Monk, or Hpal most likely. Maybe boomie, but that’s obviously a caster with dots
  2. torghast layer 8… I don’t think very many classes are having trouble with it. I’d guess Druid is probably the fastest to clear it with stealth+Off heals. If you truly want immunity, then yeah… tank?
  3. if you want to feel ALIVE then you probably don’t want #1? Unless you just want to smack people around… which yeah… Ret is smacking people around and has heals. WW seems to be right up there with Ret.

If you really want a class to immerse in that has heals (which is what I would call ALIVE), go Feral, Enh.

Well, monk works too but i have to admit i had some troubles in layer 8 with low gear

Ret paladin is your answer.

Strong, meta, viable in all forms of content (don’t do pve but I’d assume they’re fine), great at solo content such as torghast, great self/off heals that keep you alive.

I think it’s boring personally, but it’s popular because it’s meta and simple.

So far seems mainly Paladin or Druid are the “best”.

If I were personally going to DPS in PVP I would probably do something with an interesting kit that lets you do creative stuff.

Boomkin would be at the top of my list, followed by Hunters and DKs (DK kits aren’t all that interesting but I love the way death grip can change a situation).

Thought hunters are lower tier now and get easily murdered by paladins dk warriors and rogues nonstop?

My bad, didn’t see you were asking for meta classes.

Yeah, go Warrior, Paladin, Rogue, Boomkin, or DK if you’re looking for the most cookie-cutter meta classes.

I was naming off classes I would find fun, my bad. Lol

No it’s fine I don’t mind opinions and honesty. Gives something to think about.

It could be because I’ve mained hunter for years but I’m doing way better in casual pvp on my lower-geared BM hunter than my higher geared boomkin. Meta isn’t everything

Skill > Gear in some cases most certainly.
