Ticket appeal process

Was wondering will Blizzard ever discuss the information regarding as to what led to the decision that was made on an account? I tried to appeal my ticket and provide evidence, and have had my account in good standing the entire time it’s been open, but the ticket was closed. I want to be transparent with Blizzard and willing to provide any information regarding the decision that I believe to be in error. My account wasn’t suspended or banned, but stripped of rewards I had earned. With my ticket closed and at the bottom stated no further tickets regarding the appeal can be made. I don’t want to be disrespectful on the warning, but I do want to plead for some help as I believe my account was marked in error.

Since this post is right before July 4th, I doubt there would be any traction.

Anyways, everyone have a happy 4th!

Bottom line is blizzard only goes by what there logs can confirm or deny they wont take players word on it if blizzard has put we wont take any further apeals then blizzard found 100% that they were correct.

Will they provide details on what led to the account action, no. If you feel that your account was wrongly actioned, then yes you can still open a ticket. You do that via the link below.

As Drath pointed out, they go by the details in their logs and not by any information that you would need to provide. You simply put in your appeal and a new set of eyes will look into the details and either uphold the account action or overturn it.

A misconception that plagues many players is that the appeals process is one for people to plead their case. Unfortunately, it is instead only that a new set of eyes overlooks all of the data of a case to ensure that there wasn’t an error made or anything of the sort.

If they say that no further appeals will be heard, that is kind of the end of it.

And same to you, in having a Happy 4th!

Based off how quickly they replied to the ticket, and any lack of communication in the appeal, it honestly felt like they didn’t relook at the details but just went and agreed with their decision. It just feels like unless there’s a public outcry on Reddit to get someone to investigate the issue you’re stuck.

I hate using the whole “I’m unsubbing cause of this” cause it makes it sound like an ultimatum move, and in my experience and line of work, it gets the reviewer less likely to want to do anything to help.

But other than feeling unjustified in the resolution does really dishearten my reason to play. :frowning:
It just feels bad.

Look threats arent gona work there not gona lose sub over someone being unhappy GM actualy research and so called reddit posts are just a bunch of hot air either logs prove it or they dont and if they tell you the first time then theres more then enough evidence to back it. You can take it with a grain of salt or move on threats dont do squat.

Blizzard doesn’t base their actions on “public outcry”. Each appeal is looked at separately. Again, Blizz doesn’t take into account people who state that they will quit etc. When action is taken on an account, there is a great deal of data retained to evaluate when an appeal is placed.

You’re welcome to re-open an appeal but once they tell you that no further appeals will be entertained, that tends to be the end of things.

Either way, I wish you luck with your appeal.

I know they wouldn’t (or hope they wouldn’t). It’s just sometimes you can’t help but think they do when you have threads like the below:
Large upvotes on a reddit post and they have their issue resolved:

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/dcmlan/i_was_wrongfully_perma_banned_from_world_of/
https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/czterb/i_was_wrongfully_banned_from_world_of_warcraft/

But again I can only take it at face value.

Again I felt like my appeal was quickly dismissed and was told, you can’t appeal anymore closed the ticket.

Just pretty mournful as I haven’t participated in any of the activities that I’m being accused for.

Both of these have had a year+ to collect upvotes like that. And even then, that means jack squat when it comes to a GM looking over an appeal. A lot of people for some reason put a lot of faith in the screaming heads over on Reddit or streamers who Know Things and supposedly have that “In” with Blizzard.

We are treated the same no matter how old an account is, how many characters or achievements one has. What happens on some other platform outside of the game? No bearing at all. It’s only that something was found eventually where Blizzard made a mistake somewhere along the line that these people’s sanctions were lifted. It may be in time that the same can be said for you, but at current, if they’re telling you nothing more can be done, then that’s the end of it, I’m sorry to say.

Your ticket was answered roughly 8 hours after you submitted it. That doesn’t mean the ticket, and account details were not reviewed thoroughly. In fact, I see it was a Team Manager from our Customer Support team that responded.

Correct. Appeals are not a conversation.

Submitting an appeal triggers a process through which the Game Master team will review the details of the penalty, and ensure no errors are found. They do not discuss the details of the penalty or the what/when/how of it. Giving those details would provide folks with information they could potentially use to circumvent being caught in the future.

What you do not see is the large number of topics that do not result in any change to the account penalty.

I am often involved in reddit cases since part of my job responsibilities is to monitor not only the forums but also Twitter, Reddit, Wowhead, and other locations where customer support issues might arise. These tend to be cases of GMs overlooking something or a case getting routed incorrectly. There is also a bit of perception bias because the ones getting overturned are the ones you find in searches when you look for them.

I’m going to go ahead and close this thread since we don’t allow the forums to be used to appeal account actions. The speculation that these threads tend to develop into isn’t really helpful.
