Hello. Just made a rogue. I know they have a talent ability for thrown weapons. I want to keep one on a permanent basis. Any way to obtain powerful ones later on? General goods vendors? Dungeons?
Same way you get any other item, it’s just a gear slot on your char page that gives you extra stats and a way to throw something when at range.
it would be easier to just pick up guns and Bows as you quest ,they are more available than throwing knives, you just need to buy ammo.
Throwing weapons are totally irrelevant until you get deadly throw. Even then, you’ll probably only ever use this skill vs players, not mobs. This means thrown is still mostly irrelevant vs mobs. Good ones can be found in outland/northrend but regular weapons are still more common and generally better to equip.
Outside of crafted ones, there’s nothing really worth picking up…mostly because unlike ammo for other ranged weapons, they have durability which goes down every time you use them, eating up WAY more money than you otherwise would. Like was said already, guns/bows are more useful and the training cost/ammo cost will be saved overall by not needing to spend tons repairing it.
