No. It shouldn’t. Blizzcon swag has NEVER been free. It’s a freaking games con. You want the swag, you pay for it.

No they won’t. This is essentially a BlizzCon goodie bag, which would have otherwise been tacked on to the BlizzCon and Virtual Ticket packages as the only way to obtain them. Fortunately, it is available through September 15th, so people have plenty of time to decide if they really want it.

Welcome to most companies and organizations in existence! Are you going to yell at the Olympics next? How about food chains who bring back items for sale for a limited time during their anniversaries? Maybe we should rage against charities who sell anniversary items, too? 
This is like yelling at Disney because they didnt give you a “Xth Anniversary” shirt for free when you bought a ticket to Magic Kingdom.

What?!?! I have to buy their (rumored) 100 years of magic collectors set next year?!?! Should I be getting that for free? I don’t plan on watching Snow White, so why do I have to buy that as part of the bundle?
Yes, they should’ve just called it that unfortunately “Blizzcon Goodies” or something. There have always been Blizzcon goodies, but this one is just too wild for everyone.

We’re being gifted a mount later this quarter. This is just a BlizzCon tradition, online goodies for all of the games. Just there’s a mount this time, and I imagine the bear and whelp are a call back to BC as that was the original BlizzCon bear.
You weren’t able to buy that separately, nor the flying mounts a few years ago.
You’re actually getting a free mount this year. First tree mount we’ve ever gotten as well. They even did community involvement by letting us vote on it.

Oh poo, I was hoping that bear mount would be up for longer and more separate since I don’t play other of the games.
It’s not greedy though, they would give free goodies since you’d buy the ticket, it’s just a way for them to gain some $ for the event they’ll put on.

We can call Blizzard greedy for so many different things. But the BlizzCon goody bag has been going on since at least 2008 with the original Blizzard Bear and murloc suit.
These aren’t physical items. Virtual pets and mounts for a promotional event shouldn’t cost anything.
