Three bans. Same account. No explanation

The first and second incidents were resolved smoothly.
Blizzard’s team responded with:

“I see you contacted us to appeal a recent account action. We have completed our review and reopened your account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

And on the third time I submitted an appeal, they responded with this:

"I received this ticket concerning your account situation. I will have a look at your case to offer you the right answer.

After conducting the proper investigation, we can confirm that this penalty has been manually reviewed, which means it was not an error. The action was rightly applied and therefore will be upheld.

In this case, we are not able to provide further details on this penalty. You can find all the relevant information in the email that was sent to you, informing you that the action was taken against your account.

Please note that this is a final decision. We now consider this case resolved and will not review further requests on this topic.

If you have questions related to different topics, please feel free to reach out to us."

Now, all of a sudden, there’s a problem?
All I’ve been doing is running some dungeons and farming honor in Alterac Valley.
Is that somehow against Blizzard’s terms of use?
I’m honestly really confused right now.

Case ID #105137043

What was the reason given within your email?

Action(s) Taken: Account Closure

The Battle.net account has violated the Blizzard End User License Agreement. As a result, this Battle.net Account and all associated game accounts have been permanently closed. As the owner of this account, you are responsible for all actions associated with it. We will only overturn penalties if there is evidence of a compromised account. Read our Account Hacked article for details:

Are you actually participating? Or just defending uncontested objectives?

Something it seems has come up a lot recently is using fake info on your account. Of course that’s just one of the possibilities.

They must have had a lot of previous penalties for things if that’s what finally earned a battle.net account ban.

Might actually be something far more serious than a Battle.net account closure. Previous in-game actions can lead up to a game license closure most of the time if the person hasn’t learnt from previous actions.

Getting a whole Battlenet account closed takes work. Most of the time the penalize the game license, not the whole Bnet account. Here are some of the things that can trigger it, that I am aware of.

  • Multiple confirmed violations on individual game licenses. Examples would be having multiple WoW licenses closed for violating the chat rules.
  • The person does something so egregious it is likely even illegal, and Blizz closes the whole account.
  • The Battlenet account appears to be stolen and is being used for nefarious purposes for botting, advertising, etc.
  • The Battlenet Account is in conflict over who the registered account holder is. They do try to fix compromises and get people back in, but if it keeps happening they will leave the account closed.
  • Battlenet account was created for fraudulent purposes - usually by RMT sites to spam advertising, bot, etc.
  • Battlenet account has financial fraud or chargebacks on it - and this can be related to the age of the account. A brand new one has more restrictions than a 20 year old account.
  • The Battlenet account was created with fictitious information. We are required to use our legal name, address, country of residence, etc. Payment methods need to match the country and currency as well.

Also keep in mind that Blizzard does not allow account sharing, with the exception that a parent may allow on minor child to play their account, but may not use the account at the same time. That is not really suggested though - Blizz recommends setting up children 13 years and older on their own Battlenet account with Parental Controls enabled. Children under 13 may not use Blizzard services.

I don’t know if the name on the account in question is fake, but it certainly does not match the one you are posting under, Twijzt.

We require legitimate/legal details - names on Battlenet accounts.

I don’t know what else may have been identified on that account as problematic, but using fake identification is indeed an issue.
