Threads of Fate is missing

Right, so my level 70 that started the story at 60 in SL, but then DF came out so she went to DF to finish leveling to 70, is stuck. There is no Threads option for her and the NPC won’t give her a dialog to activate it, either. I’m thinking that’s what the OP is dealing with, like my alt.

Which is what I said…

One thing I will say. If I decide to take an alt into SL content to complete levelling to 60, I stay there until I hit 60. I don’t start SL and then go somewhere else. If I level to 60 in say BFA or Legion, then when I get to Oribos the NPC appears and offers it immediately. If I level in SL itself, then I have to fly back to Oribos to activate it. I’m 8 for 8 with this working now…

Which is what I had been saying. I agree with you

Oh, sorry. I was confused.

I think you misunderstood me. I’m saying that I’ve been able to start Threads of Fate on characters that have already done quests. So, having already done stuff in Shadowlands doesn’t necessarily prevent you from doing Threads of Fate. Whatever is causing it to bug out is something else.

I haven’t. So that seems to be hit or miss.

Thus far, the only 90%ish way we’ve found around here to get it successfully is with the conditions provided. Kneeshooter had a whole thread on what we’ve figured out for it so far. But even that isn’t 100%.

I’m definitely not saying that it doesn’t happen (and seems to happen more frequently if you’ve done Shadowlands stuff.) I just think it’s important to be clear that it’s not an absolute. Doing quests may bug it, but it doesn’t always.

God, I read that title and thought of the PS1 console game.

Ahhh damn  Thank you for confirming, it’s been driving me crazy

It seems like some people have been able to get it to work at 60, but you and I are in a weird situation where we went off and leveled to 70 and are going back now at 70, and we’re stuck without the option. :frowning:

It’s bull hockey that because I did a few intro quests in SL while leveling, I now have to finish the whole stupid campaign to get to SL endgame.

Threads of fate was removed I think when they launched DF, it was very early into the current expansion is all I remember.

As per this:

You mentioned in my old post you were checking it out on other alts? Did you manage to do that on any of them - re the use of the map toy.

Unfortunately, I realized that all of my other alts had already been through SL, so I couldn’t. lol

I could be remembering wrong but I thought you couldn’t switch to Threads of Fate if you already started the story mode. But you could switch to story mode if you changed your mind after starting Threads of Fate. Or it might have been the other way around.

Like I said I may be remembering it totally wrong. But I can confirm I was recently given the option to start Threads of Fate on another toon (60+) when they went to Oribos for the first time.

Edit:
Yes I was remembering wrong, you could switch to ToF if you already started the story, but if you started with ToF you couldn’t switch to story mode after that.

I wonder if those that don’t have ToF available have ever completed the SL story. You need to complete the story once for ToF to be available.

The OP said in their post:

So obviously this isnt the issue.
