Well you already have the majority of players trading WoW tokens for classic gold so they can buy their gear with real money. You already have store mounts that never existed in Vanilla and Boosted characters. Why not just add the Token. Give the players the Pay to Win game they want.
Amen brother my IRL best friend is mad I cancelled my pre order, but I dont trust this company to make non p2w games anymore.
It’s called problem solving. Rules regulations and laws are part of civilized society to deter unwanted behavior. Turn off fox news and let your brain cells regenerate.
The whole reason accounts can be sold is because there’s no authenticator tied to them. Make it mandatory upon account creation and the problem of account selling goes to bed never to be seen again.
If you truly cared about the community you’d never have come to this decision.
If you cared even a little bit you would revert this decision.
I was actually excited about the future prospects of WoW classic, including Hardcore servers and whatever “season 2” would have entailed. I get these aren’t Wrath Classic, but I must say it has taken away any desire and motivation I had to invest time into a community ran by:
You are a disgrace of a company.
Man a lot of people hate gdkps haha. I get it, as someone who does them (for lack of any other valid options outside of my guild runs) and also actively despises gold sellers… its quite the predicament
I understand the hypocrisy here, while i dont buy the gold i help shuffle it around, i dont need a lecture. I like to raid and its really the best option.
That being said, gdkps would be perfectly fine and perhaps even more appreciated if you couldnt buy gold. But rotten eggs give it a bad look constantly and its lead to rampant inflation and absurd gold stockpiles.
Unfortunately this token is going to worsen the problem by normalizing the behavior. Such a shame.
I wouldnt advocate for them banning gdkps (it would basically mean the game would be over for a large amount of people), but now more than ever they are encouraging them. Kinda wild.
So instead of making gold less effective you just add a token.
I understand your point Kaivax, but it may not be as effective as you think since the retail version of the game is still plagued by bots. What may actually occur is that players who were hesitant to purchase gold for fear of jeopardizing their accounts will now turn to buying from you because it is considered ‘legal’. Additionally, gold sellers will likely continue to offer cheaper prices, ensuring that it remains profitable for them.
One potential solution is to implement a restriction of one Battle.net account per personal ID. This would discourage players from using cheats or engaging in RMT since they would risk having their entire Battle.net account banned or blocked from creating new WoW subs, preventing them from easily returning with new bots.
they already do this smh
Should of tried banning GDKP before adding wow token if bots that much of an issue. Plague on the community that incentivizes gold buying. I am willing to bet 90% of that gold traded is obtain from illegal sources. It also adds no value to the game besides the people doing the carry. People getting carried are subverting their own gameplay by rmting, and now adding a WoW token is just incentivizing a pay to win structure. If you tried that first maybe would give some credit on adding a WoW token. But instead you are feeding into the pay to win/pay for convivence version of the game.
Remember more reasons to buy gold = more reasons to bot = more work needed to moderate.
There will most likely always be some reason to buy gold since some good gameplay aspects have that side affect at times. But GDKP does not add good value to the game.
other than the typical just ban them, what should they do? go ahead and show us the solution that no other game has been able to achieve.
Yes Blizzard, there’s a leak in the dam, so lets break the whole thing down and flood everyone with easy gold. This isn’t fixing the problem with the bots or RMT, it increases it because now there is a real dollar value added to the game and every item in it. This is a poor excuse Blizzard. Maintaining servers is part of owning them.
whats the solution then because banning them isnt working.
Not adding the WoW token that’s for sure.
so no solution then ok got it. typical.
this is kinda a confusing statement. your saying they didnt add a paid service because they are money hungry sells outs?
If you see the WoW token as a solution and that it doesn’t break what classic is, then I don’t know what to tell you man. The solution is Blizzard needs to do a better job at maintaining their servers. They have added gasoline to the fire instead.
before the next xpac launches there will be the WoW token in vanilla classic. because no one who worked on vanilla wow is at blizzard anymore it’s just a bunch of losers who can’t make good games so they are happy destroying other people’s work for money.
the solution is a generalized statement that they need to maintain there servers…im sure blizz will be calling you soon with a job offer.
I uninstalled get rid of it
